Broad Oaks BB

We visited Broad Oaks B&B before going on holiday to Spain. The staff were very welcoming. The room was spacious and cosy a really nice homely B&B. We loved their cooked breakfast it was absolutely delicious. We look forward to visiting again. 

Handy for Solihull Station and not much further to Solihull centre. Room was excellent and breakfast was great! We had some travel issues getting there and left a couple of voicemails when we thought we were going to be late but didn't hear back - in the end we made it by 7pm and checked in without issue.

Warm welcome, clean, spacious room with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Bed extremely comfortable. Woke once to the sound of silence, pure bliss. Lovely hot shower with fresh white towels. Good cooked breakfast and then before I left a lovely surprise box of chocolates. If I am ever in the area again will definitely use Broad Oaks again. Thank you.

BRILLIANT B&B 

Nice little B&B

Over night stay

The greeting from the owners son, Josh, was friendly and helpful so I had high hopes for this B&B. My room was clean but a bit tatty to be honest. There was no chair and the bedside table was behind the bed, as they had squeezed two beds into what should really have been a single room. There was no bedside lamp and the main light switch was by the door and a cheap lampshade over a plain bulb did not create a great atmosphere. There was plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits but I had to go across the landing to the bathroom to get water for the kettle.  
The wardrobe was a cheap flat pack single with no carpet or floor covering inside the wardrobe - straight on to old floorboards. My bathroom was across the landing but was a good size and clean. Bed was comfortable but only had a fitted bottom sheet and a quilt on top. No clean sheet to get under. Breakfast was fresh and tasty but nothing was available on the table - no condiments sauces or milk. You have to ask for everything.

Over rated at 9.0 on Booking.com - a reasonable B&B but no more than that.

While spending 5 weeks throughout Ireland and England I stayed in many B & B's along the way and finished my trip at Broad Oaks B&B. My girlfriend was getting married and we had the room for the first night and then she and her new husband would have it for their wedding night the next day. Upon arriving we were immediately asked to pay the bill before they would let us up to the room or even give us the key. Our luggage was still in the car! They stood there with the credit machine in their hands!
We had reserved two rooms and the other couple were not there yet, so we explained that (1) We were not paying for the other couple and (2) We had already paid a deposit on our room and that the groom would be paying when he arrived for the 2nd night.... the next day. I have never been asked to pay up front! OK, so for $140 (pounds) a night I would expect quite the first class experience..... WRONG! Note: I never paid more than $70 a night any where else I stayed. The rooms were OK, nothing to get excited about. I could not get on wi-fi......the password was wrong. When our friends arrived, they too were greeted with the credit card machine and could only get their key if they paid!!!
The next morning...... there was enough hot water for one shower so the BRIDE had to take a cold shower!!!! At breakfast, the most important thing we wanted was a cup of coffee or a pot of tea. We did not get either until after we were served our mediocre breakfast!!!! The coffee was instant and when we asked for cream in it they gave us whipped cream out of a can on top. We explained that no, we wanted pouring cream so they brought us a bottle of half used milk. When we asked for a cup of tea, they asked if we wanted sugar and then proceeded to put the sugar in for us..... way too sweet!! No pot of tea, no cream pitcher, no sugar bowl!!!! 
During breakfast our friend (an 80+ gentleman) fell coming down the stairs! NO ONE came to assist him even though they saw it happen! We had to help him up off the floor! Two young men who appeared to live there just looked on and said are you OK but that was the end of it. They walked into the kitchen and talked to the woman who owned the place and she never came out to see if he was alright!
My understanding is that when the bride and groom showed up after the wedding there was a fruit basket on the bed...... Wow!
