Hi ! 
Just a quick review of the Berkeley !! 
Yes I know that theres a lot of negative comment on social media at the moment re Sam Smiths style of running places !!! 
You know what I love this pub !! Great beer very cheap not changed in years !!!! 
No music no bandits ban on talking on your phone in the middle of the lounge !! Great .Seem to have got a great pro management team in now so am looking forward to things keeping "just as they are " 
This is a great pub !! Not for kids not an alko pop in sight no modern themed stuff but great beer great prices and a total "scroat free" place 
Give it a try you may like it !!!  

Booked on a late basis due to unexpected business in Scunthorpe.  Room was comfy, bed comfortable and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. Breakfast was superb with bacon, sausage, beans and perfect poached eggs, amongst other options available.
Bar had also served me some outstanding Sam Smiths beer at affordable prices.  I will add I had noticed it was in CAMRAs good beer guide and this helped to sway me!
Great value and I would stay again if in the area

This pub is a beautiful building on the outskirts of Scunthorpe near to Gallagher Retail park, The interior decor is something special. It is a Samuel Smiths pub where no mobile phones are allowed plus a no swearing policy. The beer is of good quality and the prices are a lot less than other nearby pubs. The pub does not do food which is a shame because it would increase the patronage. The staff are always friendly & the manager Kirsty always greets you with a smile. There is plenty of good parking in the massive car park. Give it a try.

 A late booking which turned out to be most enjoyable. All of the staff were so helpful and accommodating.
A friendly warm bar after a trying day was so welcome and the warm room was good value with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was very good and this quirky hotel with no music or tv deserves a good rating.

Old fashioned pub with old fashioned prices! Nice fire, friendly regulars, nice armchairs, Samuel Smith's Bitter at £2 a pint! Friendly staff, good banter with locals. Good location and plenty of parking.

An hotel without TV, without music in the bar, without 1-arm bandits, surely not such a place. Well yes there is. From a positive point of view, how nice to sit in a bar and just listen to people of all ages talking.  The decor is brilliant, the bar staff and the hostess, equally brilliant and the food (well breakfast anyway) was good.
On the negative side, I am sure a music or noise licence would drum up a lot of business for weddings and meetings but the management have their reasons and it should be respected.

Decor - outside, looks like a drab warehouse, inside, totally different, all art deco and really nice. The only drawback was that the bedrooms did not shut, either due to warping with age, too many layers of paint but even with the wind blowing in, the heating kept the room warm.

Bathroom  - shower was small and a pre-pubescent anorexic would easily manage to get into the shower through the narrow opening but me.....  If one ran around a lot, one could actually get wet under the mediocre flow of water.

Bed - comfortable

Breakfast - enjoyable, well cooked although the toast would have been nicer on a separate plate and not under the bacon but that is a minor point.  NO sweeteners...NO marmite

Overall, would I stay there again, definitely.  It is querky, unique, unusual and above all of that, the beer is well priced

Good old fashioned pub

Unusual from an unusual point of view

Just popped in for a quick drink for New Year's Eve, not many people in, but it was quite early. No background music, so a bit boring,  love the 'No Swearing rule', but slightly miffed about the 'No Phone rule', surely you could keep them on silent for emergencies. Look forward to summer when you can sit outside, hope their still open then. Not sure if they do food yet?
