Loved our stay - we stayed with work and my partner had to leave for a meeting, the staff were fantastic and allowed me to stay in the room and work - the staff were fantastic. The hotel is going through a renovation but this certainly didn't spoil our stay... the bedroom was lovely and clean... would love to return, Thanks again x

We visited as a family of nine, aged from 80 to 4, the food was awesome and apart from the obvious was all homemade, the service was second to none and the staff interacted really well with customers, nothing was too much trouble, my son is a fussy eater and doesn't eat a carvery, the chef cooked him something that wasn't on the menu to accommodate his dietary needs, cannot fault the food or customer experience, we sat in a relaxed atmosphere and weren't rushed at all, I'd recommend this place to anyone passing through and want to eat!

All of my usually hotels were full, booked the court house through Booking.com, what a little gem of a place, rooms are comfortable and warm, the restaurant although small served fantastic home cooked food, Green Thai Curry was delicious and I had the lemon meringue sundae which was new to the menu, OMG fantastic, the chef came and had a quick chat, obviously very talented, I would 100% recommend this hotel, if it wasn’t a little too far out I would stay every week. Parking was the only thing that let it down, although free it was on the main road, that said it seems a quite little village. Give it a try it won’t disappoint 👍

Stayed for two nights with my partner who booked for us . Had business meeting locally. Was doubtful as it is above a pub but pleasantly surprised. Rooms were spotless and smelt lovely even the bathroom did. Well equipped plenty of tea coffee making facilities and friendly staff. Are there in the evening also and was lovely. Landlord is very friendly and helpful. Will stay again on next meeting. 

Popped in for quick meal on Saturday night - quick service , lovely food and good beer. 

A quieter alternative in town that’s worth a visit if you are local - do have rooms to rent as well

I had an attractive, single room for one night. It was a reasonable size for a single with an open hanging space for clothes, a couple of drawers and some overhead storage. The en suite had a large shower cubicle with rain shower. Plenty of teabags and coffee sachets were provided (including spares in the hallway) plus usual toiletries in the bathroom. The accommodation is in a village location and only about 20 minutes drive to Kettering Conference Centre. So far so good. There were a couple of minor irritants. There were no on-road parking spaces when I arrived. I was directed to a nearby private car-park but told I’d have to move the car by 7.30am ready for the offices to open. OK if you’re making an early start. The bedside lamp didn’t work (I waited until the morning to report it - as I say, it was a minor thing). They seem to have a limescale issue - the bathroom tap didn’t do much more than dribble and the shower head could do with descaling. But overall, I spent a very comfortable night there and it was very good value for money. I would certainly stay again if in the area.

room 4 ok but problem with flow of hot water which i reported and  told would look into which it wasn't and same next day !  i notice this was reported in 2016 in previous review so not a new problem !! Was also noisey both nights around 5 in morning  and noisey from bar on friday night. the key we were given for outside door did not work so had to wait outside for 15 mins until the cleaner turned up , i tried ringing the bell but no response and rang hotel phone but no answer . was a shame as the place could be great and lady behind bar was very nice and food good but  lacking customer care in rooms

disappointing stay

I really can’t understand the over the top positive comments about the rooms..they aren’t up to that much however the room we were in (number 1)  was clean at least. BUT it was sooo hot and stuffy..the one tiny window which opened was inadequate and made a noisy room even noisier..granted that all the noise was from outside and from the constant flow of traffic through the town..it must be a rat run through to other areas as it never dies down at all..all night! There was no fan , and as we came back late, no opportunity to ask for one either...it was suggested in other posts that fans were in all rooms in the summer..but not ours...I didn’t hear much noise from the pub itself but can imagine it might be an issue for those seeking a quieter night!  The bed was awful to say the least! The mattress was lumpy and uneven..Crunching every time somebody moved! I even had to prop my side up with a towel to stop the feeling of falling out of bad..the pillows were also “ like sleeping on bags of bread rolls” my husband so eloquently put it. The bathroom was OK..but had a macerator toilet so some might find this noisy and odd..one to bare in mind...I understand about the listed building status which is why the windows can’t be double glazed or a proper toilet in all rooms. This place wasn’t for us..and won’t be for you if you like comfort and quiet...But you might like the quirky nature of it all...we didn’t.

Traffic Noise, hot and stuffy room

On checking in the room seemed basic but clean which was all that was needed for one night stay. I would not recommend ever staying here as the bedding was inadequate. There were no additional blankets, no bedspread. I spent the whole night freezing. Slept in my slippers with coat over my head. On check in was advised no food served so not a problem. Went to Woolpack where staff were cheery and happy. On addressing my concerns to owner requesting partial refund, this request was denied. I chose not to use the showering facilities in the hopes that would then be a “fair request” Apparently not. Whilst I can appreciate the owners choice not refund I do not think my discomfort and awful experience was addressed compassionately.
I would avoid. There was a smell of stagnant water from shower.

Unhappy with response from owners.

On street parking should not be advertised as free parking as if it were being provided. 
Place was mining dried coffee stain in mug there 3 days on the trot .
Bed was uncomfortable. 
Tv didn't work as no signal .
Squared IKEA shelving on the wall was in the way of the toilet door I banged my head on it several times .
Realy showed cleaner that didn't care
