We stayed in Crows Nest (6 adults and 2 children). Absolutely stunning location and big deck to enjoy for meals and bird watching. We would 100% return and loved how isolated our lodge was.
The only downside was the squeaky wooden floors. Since the bedrooms are on the bottom floor, any movement upstairs kept the kids awake.

Lovely scenery, cosy lodges, great amenities, and amazing staff
When we arrived, our lodge was locked and we rung reception, Izzy (and Basil the cute little dog) came straight to us with the key and a complimentary Prosecco and chocolates for the inconvenience. They couldn't have been more helpful. Will certainly be back. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This was our 3rd visit to The Cedars Spa at this site.
The cabin is always lovely and clean and warm.
The area is so peaceful and quiet. We had a fantastic relaxing time in the hot tub and would recommend The Cedars and this site to anyone. Looking foward to our next visit.

We came here as a family to celebrate my other half’s 40th birthday. What an amazing place! We stayed at the Pines lodge and the views are fabulous! The lodge is beautiful, clean and cozy!
 The whole park is breathtaking and the staff are very friendly and helpful! We have enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked to come again at the end of June! Experience Winter here and now we want to experience summer! I give this place 5 stars! An absolute gem of a find! Highly recommended!

We were blow away by this 4 night break. We stayed in the oaks. The lodge was so big and lovely. Everything is clean and tidy. Added bonus was the hot tub. The views were stunning. We will be coming back. Staff were lovely.  The kids loved it. Very good for dogs too.

We came here as a couple & stayed in the log spa.
Lovely welcome when we arrived at reception and we found our log cabin fairly easy.
We came for peace & quiet & that’s exactly what we received.
The log cabins are spaced a fair distance from each other so you cannot hear the neighbours.
Hot tub very nice and was checked daily.
It’s a great central base for exploring
The welcome pack is the best i’ve seen for a long time.
We ate at the Nags Head one night, nice good but extremely overpriced.

We’ve just returned from a long weekend at Penllwyn Lodges, staying at the Foxgloves lodge. It was perfect. Lodge itself spotless and extremely comfortable. It was cold outside but we couldn’t believe how warm the lodge was. It was well equipped and is located a short drive away from Newtown which has plenty of supermarkets, restaurants, take aways etc. Hot tub was also great and well looked after. Loved it, will return.

Such a perfect relaxing weekend with my family and pet dog. 
We stayed in Murray lodge it was clean, cozy and had everything we needed in there. 
The hot tub was so relaxing situated in the woods. We got to look at the wild life. My children really enjoyed. There are plenty of walks and beautiful welsh scenery. We are already planning on booking again. Just wonderful.

We stayed in Toft and were very pleased with the lodge. The grounds are really well looked after and beautiful. The dogs had plenty of exercise running around the field by the canal. I fished the lake and caught some tench and plenty of perch. All in all had a great stay.

Just back from a 4 night stay in 'The Log Spa'. Absolutely loved it. So peaceful laying in the hot tub overlooking the gorgeous welsh countryside. The cabin was clean, cosy and well equipped. I loved getting up early and having my morning coffee surrounded by squirrels and gorgeous birds. We even had sheep pop up to say hello one morning. We've already booked to go back.

We had a fantastic break at Penllwyn Lodge, it exceeded our expectations. We were attending an event nearby and decided to make a weekend of it by staying at the lodge, and we’re so glad we did! The scenery was beautiful, and the lodge was perfectly positioned - we could just about see another lodge, but still felt tucked away in the woods. The interior was well thought out and perfectly suited for a woodland retreat, and the lodge was well equipped (basic supplies but plenty of them, and towels). The hot tub was a dream, and it gave us peace of mind knowing it was checked and maintained each morning. The team at Penllwyn were all super helpful too! 

Our only comment, taking it down from 5 stars to 4, is that an additional bathroom would have made things easier for our group of six friends. Also, the walls were quite thin, so we could hear conversations from around the lodge. Plenty of space for multiple cars, we were able to get a food shop delivered. If you're cooking something special, I would suggest bringing a few extra cooking supplies - salt, pepper, olive oil.

Beautiful, isolated, will return

The location is stunning, it was super peaceful and the canal walk was a brilliant daily occurrence for us to let our pooch off lead and it is full of amazing wildlife. 

The cabin was lovely and the kitchen well equipped. Minor things were purely that it was so dark and all of the bulbs are energy savers which is fine but had this been a winter trip honestly getting ready would have been a struggle. The place could to with a washing machine as we paid £30 to use laundrette services. 

The Wi-Fi is also poor which is fine but if you don’t get the weather, cosy afternoons watching something  are harder to achieve! The staff were good and the hot tub checked daily. The Nags Head pub nearby is superb, the standard of food is very very good.

Nearby Montgomery was somewhat of a ghost town but Welshpool has plenty of local amenities. Also about an hours drive on is Dyfi beach and it’s beautiful.

Just returned from a weeks stay in Foxgloves. Lovely lodge and setting. Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble 
One point of feedback -  If setting a 10 mp h speed limit on the site (which we totally agree with and makes it a safer place for all) , please encourage staff to stick to it - most days we witnessed the little golf buggy type trucks going much faster together with the grey van
