We've never been to Oban before and we chose this hotel as it was one of the best prices for two nights during our tour of Scotland. 
We arrived early afternoon to a very warm welcome from Iona and shown to our 'room' at the back of the hotel. It was huge!! I'm not sure what we were expecting, but it far exceeded it! 
There are a row of rooms with doors opening onto a small gravel garden area with sun chairs and benches for everybody to use. We had one of these. 
The room was huge and more like an apartment, there were two large double beds,  chairs, fridge (full of water, juice, yoghurts), tv, tea/coffee and a large airy bathroom with a great shower. It was fantastic. 
The car park is ample for the hotel and it was easy to park. 
It's located right on the front overlooking the bay with amazing views. It's a 5 minute walk into the centre along the bay where there are some lovely shops and restaurants. 
We wanted to go to Tobermory and found this to be very easy from the ferry terminal at a cost of around £14 for the two of us as foot passengers. 
We had a lovely two night stay here and thoroughly recommend it.

Great place! Great Location! Great Views!

Good hotel with friendly staff. Just a passing through unfortunately but we are already planning our next visit.
Main reason for stay was the easy transfer to the ferry at daft o'clock in the morning.

Brief stay

My friend and I had a lovely twin room, that had 2 double beds. We had a front door that opened onto a lovely patio area for our use. The room was spotless and had all amenities. The continental breakfast provided consisted of a wide variety of items to suit all tastes, this is in place at the moment due to corona virus. The owner and staff friendly and approachable nothing was a bother. I am happy to recommend this guest house. 

This guesthouse was amazing.

My partner and I stayed here on the 8th-10th September for my birthday. Iona and staff were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very comfy and cosy and perfect for ya coming and going. The breakfast every morning was a perfect addition in these strange times and was a great start to the day. Will definitely be booking again the next time we are in Oban and would 100% recommend for anyone looking for easy access to the town with fabulous views and a lovely host! 🙂

Hidden Gem

We had booked 2 rooms for 1 night at this Guest House through Booking.com and there was a cancellation date  5 days prior to our arriving. Unfortunately we had to cancel because of Covid contact after this date and telephoned and spoke to Iona who could not have been more helpful. I advised her of the problem and she said for me to cancel through Booking.com and telephone her the following day to see if the booking could be cancelled without charge. I did as she asked and 10 minutes after speaking to her she telephoned me to say that it had been cancelled without charge.  In these very difficult times for businesses I really appreciate what she did and we will be going next year and although we have not stayed at the accommodation before we will definitely be booking to stay there.  A really pleasant and helpful experience with Iona.

A really pleasant and helpful experience

We spent two lovely nights in Room 4 at Glenrigh. Iona the owner was very helpful and attentive. Room 4 is accessed at the side of the main building. It has a large bedroom with side views across the bay. The bed is very comfortable.There is a small sitting room area which made the place seem big and spacious. It had a TV in it and one in the bedroom. The shower room had lovely hand wash, hand cream, shower gel and shampoo. Due to Covid there was not a cooked breakfast but there was plenty for a continental breakfast that we ate in the sitting area. We had a really nice stay and will hopefully get the chance to return.

A lovely two nights at Glenrigh

This was a clean, cosy and luxurious stay in Oban. We stayed in one of the 'Mews'rooms and it was marvellous. We had a double bed each, continental breakfast and comfort in all aspects of the room. Iona was lovely and sincere and had safely thought about her guests. Please consider staying here for a few nights in Oban.

We only stayed one night in this lovely accommodation but would happily have stayed the week! Lovely room, spacious, bright, quiet and with a wonderful view. We were both instantly relaxed when we came in and Iona was a fabulous hostess. Breakfast in the room was really nice. Will be back soon hopefully. Thank you for a lovely experience. Elaine & Ian

Oban Escape

I recently stayed at this fantastic location. On arrival the owner could not have done more for me... Mrs Mackechnie was so welcoming.. I felt very welcome from the start. My room was spacious amd very inviting with everything and more that was needed. The crisp clean bedding on the huge bed was very inviting! The room was clean and really was a home from home setting... I slept like a baby and woke up to Obans glorious views. The location of this place really is special sea views all round and a 5 minute walk to the town with everything you need on your doorstep. I will happily return here very soon. Huge Thank you! Happily recommend to all you will not be disappointed.

Friendly, inviting, welcoming host... what more could you ask for!

We decided to go to see oben and just decided to stay a night so I saw this on booking .com.and decided to stay the night oh my goodness the room was enormous ,king-size bed, fridge, wine glasses,cups ,kettle and tea, coffee,milk were all there ,if you need anything you went to the dining area to get it your self due to covid we could not get cooked breakfast but continental breakfast was available.the host  Iona was such a wonderful woman and very helpful .we also had binoculars in the room the views were amazing and the place is spotless definitely would go again .
