Stayed at River Birch for a week, very comfortable and beautiful. The location is great to explore the wonders of southeast England from nearby Bodiam Castle to Rye and its restaurants and shops. The quiet morning air is delighful. Shops are close by, Jempsons or Waitrose in Hawkhurst or Tenterden. The beds/pillows are very comfortable and bathrooms excellent.

Carolyn is really helpful and responsive. Easy parking. If you are lookng for a memorable day trip of about 45 mins or so, try Seven Sisters and see the white chalk cliffs. Good exercise, too.

We had the most perfect stay at Silver Birch - beautifully designed and furnished, everything very well presented, comfortable and immaculately clean. Surrounded by wildflowers and with just the sounds of sheep and birds this was a peaceful, restorative break. Tucked away, yet within easy reach of beaches, castles, gardens - Great Dixter is very nearby, we relaxed and didn’t need to spend much time driving. Wonderful walks from the doorstep and plenty of interest in the surrounding Sussex villages. The owners, whose farm Silver Birch is on are friendly, helpful yet not intrusive, have created something really special here and I’d say in forty years of self-catering it’s the best we’ve stayed in.  Thankyou Carolyn and John for a fabulous week.

My partner and I and our 8 year old daughter stayed at silver birch lodge on Woodgate Farm. It was stunning! This was an amazing eco lodge built within an area of natural beauty in a small East Sussex town called Beckley. Just 15 mins from Rye and 20 Minutes from Battle.  The owners Carolyne and John were very welcoming and on hand for anything you need. Great email communication ensures we knew what to do on our arrival.  These lodges were all local to surrounding towns for anything you need.  

A beautiful lined drive way of birch trees greet you on your arrival. With plenty of space for your car.  The surroundings were stunning and we could hear all the wildlife, owls, woodpeckers, and the lambs in the neighbouring field.  We spotted a few rabbits too which was wonderful especially as it was Easter.   
We had the larger of the two lodges on site.  Silver Birch. Consisting on two bedrooms. One master bedroom with a dressing table, stool, and a free standing hanging rail.  Very beautifully decorated.  The second bedroom with two single beds was smaller but perfect for my daughter.  Again lovely decoration.  
The lounge area has a very large L shaped sofa which was amazing and a beautiful dining area with a high end kitchen. So much space to spread out and decking for a light drink in the evening if the weather is warm enough. 

All of the small attentions to detail make this lodge wonderful.  From the fixtures to fittings, bedding and bathrooms.  

The lodges allow the light to shine right through with large glass sliding doors. Lots of blinds to keep out the sun and very dark at night time.  

Take a trip to Rye Village while you are there or alternate battle and walk the ground where the battle of Hastings took place.  We had a wonderful Easter break away and would highly recommend. We didn’t want to leave xx

Contemporary, comfortable, clean and so quiet( we could hear the owls at night and woodpecker in the day)
We stayed as a couple in River Birch with two bedrooms( one a king bed and the other with narrow twin beds) and two en-suite bathrooms(one bath with brilliant hand and rain showers, and the other has a fantastic shower cubicle with  a hand and a rain shower)smaller than it’s twin building next door but that only has the one and shared bathroom. A view over a small pond with wild birds, squirrels and rabbits to watch through the large windows which stretch out through each of the rooms. The fixtures are high end and the furniture really John Lewis’s. This was home from home for us and it’s all eco friendly also. Parking and privacy is great and there is a ramp to the front door for people with any walking disabilities to access easily plus the whole building is one one level.
The Hamlet is very quiet with just a small church but it’s a quick drive to the nearest paper shop. 
Carolyn & John were very discreet hosts, knowledgable and interesting and have a Japanese food pop up shop so they were about if we needed any info. 
Hubby tried going course fishing near Hawkhurst and Rye is only 30 mins drive away. 
Many thanks to both of them and we wish them every success in letting out the two units and the B&B for the future

Just returned after a 2 night stay at Woodgate Farm.
John and Carolyn are very friendly hosts and very pleasant to talk to.
We stayed in the en-suite room and it was very nice.
The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean plus lovely views.
We highly recommend Woodgate Farm as its lovely and peaceful plus easy traveling distance to Rye and surrounding areas etc.
We would definitely return.

We stayed one night.We were welcomed warmly and were offered tea and biscuits when we arrived.It was a lovely room and the most comfortable we've ever slept in.The shower was great with everything you could need in the bathroom.In the morning the breakfast was delicious,lots of choice,homemade bread and a great start to the day.I would recommend the peace and quiet and good food to all.

We used to be motorhomers, but sold up. We needed a long weekend away & have enjoyed visiting Kent in the past. A quick Internet search resulted in Woodgate Farm. And I'm so very glad it did! What a idyllic picturesque retreat! We needed a ground floor room, as my wife had health issues and everything suited our needs with perfect charming hosts in John & Carolyn. They along with the other guests gave us pointers on place's to go & thing's to see. Their cottage is lovely, modern & clean. A nice homely atmosphere. And although we didn't have an en suit bathroom with our room we had a private one across the hall.   
Will go to the area in the future I'm sure!

We stayed at Woodgate Farm for 2 nights on 22nd August. The grounds have lovely gardens with plenty of places to sit. John and Karen were lovely hosts who took time to chat to you and advise on places to visit. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, with fresh milk and bottled water supplied. Breakfast was very good, sausages and bacon from local butcher and much appreciated. The bread was home made, and there was plenty of excellent coffee. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Carolyn and John were lovely hosts, nothing was to much trouble for them and had knowledge of the area Which was very helpful. 

Breakfast was amazing. Local sourced produce and cooked fresh with homemade bread lovely.

Room was comfortable and very clean very quiet with nice big tv and great Wi-Fi connection. Was concerned about using Private bathroom as usually have ensuite but this caused us no probkem at all and was very clean and had everything you needed.

Woodgate Farm is off the beaten track, but still a great location for visiting Rye, Hastings, Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle and more. Better yet, it's calm and relaxing. Usually I choose historic B&Bs to stay in, but even though this one wasn't historic, I'm very glad I went there. John and Carolyn were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with fabulous local bacon and sausage, eggs from a neighboring farm, tasty local apple juice and plums from the tree outside. If you're uncomfortable driving on narrow lanes, you might find it a challenge to get there, but it's a lovely and reasonably priced place to stay.
