An absolutely stunning house and great service. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and will be back. Durham is a beautiful city and our stay here was the icing on the cake. We are both carnivores and the staff were very considerate, giving us a packed breakfast to take with us as we had to leave very early on the morning of our departure. Thank you so much for an incredible break. We will be back in the spring. James and Lydia.

I would give this place a 2- or 3-star review if I had paid standard hotel prices for it, but given how inexpensive it was, I believe a 4-star review is reasonable.There is no security to the check in process - envelopes with guests' full names, contact information, length of stay, room number, and key are left in a front entryway, which was never locked during the entire week I was there. The walls are so incredibly thin that I could hear every word of any conversations had in neighboring rooms - I could even hear my immediate neighbor snoring, and I was woken up by my neighbor's vibrating phone alarm in the morning. I was fortunate to have quiet neighbors while I was there, but this could be a significant problem if your neighbors are less considerate than mine were.There are signs warning that the bathroom door must be closed while showering and the fan on, or it could trip the fire alarm. I'm not sure if someone neglected to follow these instructions, but there was a fire alarm on the first night I was there, and it took some time to get staff to the property to turn it off. My bathroom door was also very difficult to open/close, as the door did not fit well in the frame.Staff were friendly during housekeeping visits, which I generally declined during my week-long stay due to working on my laptop in the room. I was usually (but not always) able to find additional towels and other supplies downstairs as needed.The area is fairly quiet, and easy to walk around.

Stunning house and great service.

The Manager is a very hardworking and dedicated employee whom went far beyond what any reasonable employer would expect.Based on  some 4 decades of commercial Management experience in many parts of the world, the owner should really involve himself directly in improving the exterior condition of the property and providing more additional staff to support the heavily time commitments placed on the Manager whom is simply overworked.

Full breakfast available for £6 very friendly staff can’t ask for more I would recommend 
On street parking could be an issue but we found a car park 2 mins walk away. Very close to town centre and all its facilities

Very good

Very good value for money,  was basic and clean,  breakfast was amazing no grease on plates and freshly cooked will definitely be back .  Was central and easy to find and also able to take our wee dog was brilliant 😀😀 .  We had our granddaughter with us and all slept in one room but room was massive so not cramped at all and felt comfortable taking her there

A weekend visit

Brilliant value for money with a fantastic breakfast in a sunny room. 
Kettle and tv provided. White bed linen. Friendly staff. Easy check in via intercom on the door. 
Microwave, iron and board, extra towels and pillows provided downstairs to help yourself to. 
Booked in advance on their own website, it’s unbeatable value including breakfast! 
Down sides are not much room for clothes (a shelf with 4 hangers) maintenance issues on some areas such as windows and no bath, just a shower and a double bed rather than anything larger but genuinely it’s minor and almost a 5. The best value in town (imho).
The staff are brilliant.

Best value with fab breakfast and lovely staff

Stayed here for one night after booking for a night out.  Room was basic but clean. Comfy bed and good breakfast and only £30 and there are cheaper rooms i chose to pay extra for a double.  You get basic tea and coffee making facilities and small en suite shower room with 2 small soap bars.  Good guest house would stay again if in Peterhead.

Great for the price

nice budget guest house with good size double room which was clean and the double bed comfortable pleasant friendly staff.  good position to walk down to the harbour and high street which are within a couple of 2mins stroll. no private parking but plenty free on street parking.  basic cooked breakfast and cereals provided but for the price paid its a good standard. very pleasant stay would come back if ever in the area again

great budget guest house at a low price

It’s nothing fancy but decent for the price. With a few updates it could be better. The shower was hot after some adjusting. The bed and pillows could stand improvements. The room was on the cold side with the heat turned up. Location is pretty quiet and centrally located to the town. Breakfast is served on the early side (ends at 9am) so we didn’t get to try it. Keys are left in a box inside the front door and you return them to the same place so we never actually met anyone working there.
