Bryn Derw

Linda runs a lovely place.  Bedroom cosy, lovely large bathroom.  Nice outlook and we did the walk from the back up to the telegraph pole through the gate and down to the lake and further.  Porthmadog is lovely and so is Criccieth.   The grapes pub serves good food.  Had a lovely relaxed time thankyou linda and her family.

This was a lovely home, with large bedroom and ensuite. 
The owner, Linda, was fantastic very warm and welcoming. She was attentive and was able to provide information about places to see and good places to get food.
I reccomend staying here if you're planning on visiting Snowden or Portmarion or anything in this part if wales really.

Stayed in the ensuite - La Casita - great room, comfortable bed, power shower, TV, fridge, WiFi also own seating on patio (great sunset on Friday evening). Linda is a very friendly host and provides a sumptuous breakfast to start your day. We shared the breakfast table with a couple of tourists from Belgium. Linda ensured the atmosphere matched the quality of the food on offer and reflected the friendly setting in the family kitchen. Highly recommended for anyone planning to visit this area. Many thanks. Lynda was the perfect host and the room was perfect, always there if we needing anything whilst allowing privacy. Although the room is within the family home we did not feel we were intruding at all. Very knowledgeable about the local area and recommending an amazing local restaurant/pub for an evening meal. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed here with my daughter on a university trip to Wales. A great base to explore the sights of beautiful North Wales. Linda was a delightful host - plenty of suggestions on places to go (including the most scenic road I've ever driven along), local walks, good restaurants to eat. A very comfortable room and an amazing breakfast that set us up for the day. Can't wait to come back again!

Absolutely wonderful property. A real home from home, family, comfortable vibe. We stayed here for 2 nights and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the farm. We were made to feel comfortable and like no request was too much. I'm a vegetarian and can only drink decaff tea/coffee, on Booking I said this to the host and she said she would very happily get me some bits and bobs in.
The whole farm had such a comfy and and homely feel to it. On check in we were asked what time we would like breakfast the next morning and what we'd like to eat. We were given a huge choice and we both opted for the Full Welsh breakfast (mine a veggie friendly version). We ate in the family kitchen, which was huge and so beautifully decorated and the table was made up and dressed to a really high standard. Made us feel looked after and spoilt. Aswell as being offers the full breakfast, there was lots of cereal, fresh fruits, yogurts and toast to choose from.
The bedroom was spacious and had lots of storage space. There was a double bed and a single bed in our room with a lovely ensuite with both a shower and a bath! Everywhere looked like it hadn't long been decorated and there was homemade soaps (which you can also buy) in the bathroom, another really nice touch.
There was a flat screen T. V WITH HMDI and USB ports, which was great as we took our laptop to connect up. We had a mini fridge which had been stocked with fresh milk and bottled water. A kettle, drinking glasses, wine glasses and mugs, as well as a stock of coffee, tea, herbal tea and biscuits. The view from our room was beautiful and with the farm being in the middle of the countryside you can't hear cars or anything but the birds singing. Truly lovely and so peaceful.
I will say that the only thing I found confusing (but completely my fault!) was that the farm is made up of two houses. Both belonging to one family. I knocked on the door and was shown upstairs to a room that looked nothing like the room I had booked, so was quite confused. Then there was a knock at the door and the lady which I had booked with, came to collect us. All quite confusing but was easily solved 😊
All in all a lovely stay. Very romantic and snuggly. I will suggest though that travellers look up and research the area before visiting. It is central to places such as Portmerion and Portmaddog. We struggled a little to know where to eat out but just had to do some more research. There are some lovely restaurants in Harlech. Everywhere else seems to be mainly pubs.
Would deffinatly recommend highly and if we stay in this part of Wales again, we'd come back. 

We spent a very happy 3 nights at Bryn Derw.  There are many good things to list:
- A  genuine warm welcome from Linda
- A lovely spacious room and a very nice bathroom with a fantastic shower. Comfy bed.
- Delicious breakfasts, with quality produce and eggs fresh from the chickens running around outside.  Plenty of cereals, fresh fruit and home made jam/marmalade.  There is a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere in Linda's kitchen.
- Fantastic location.  If you want somewhere peaceful and with starry skies, this is for you.  Very near to the beautiful estuary, the lively town of Portmadog, and the attractions of Harlech.  If you like hillwalking the fabulous Rhinogs are very close at hand and you are not too far away from the main Snowdonia mountains.
- If you are lucky enough to sample it, Linda makes the very best bara brith to be found!

Just back from a lovely few days spent at Bryn Derw  great location and suited our needs for travelling around North Wales   Porthmadog is close by with a couple of top class restaurants Linda the owner of the B&B was welcoming and friendly and was forthcoming with suggestion of places to visit we especially enjoyed Bodnant Gardens which are within easy reach
