The Old Priory Cottage

We discovered old priory self catering cottage, and new we just had to stay there. 20 years later, we have made it. To be able to stay in somewhere this old and historic is fabulous. Jane is a great host. The cottage dates back to 1200s, yes it's old but that's what the charm is. Cosy and comfortable,but expect quirky corners,sloping floors antique furniture you'd expect to find in grannies attic and floorboards to die for. Lovely and warm, comfortable beds. Close to everything in Dunster,lots of walks on the doorstep,and Dunster castle 10min walk away. The priory cottage garden is beautiful packed full of flowers ,trees and hidden areas to sit and listen to the birds. The church which is attached chimes every hour and has a carillon every 4hours. If you want contemporary,sleek sparkling lines, then this isn't for you. If you want a slice of history,peacefulness then you have it in abundance.
