The Swan Inn

A lovely updated historic 16th century inn in the middle of MIdhurst. I had a very comfy one night stay snd was upgraded for free to a room with a four poster bed. This timber framed historic inn has been restored and improved very nicely with modern touches. RThe bar has distinct snug areas and wood fires. Don't expect everything to be square or plaster walls to be smooth. The inn is all the better for showing its historic listed character. The clientelle tend to be at the younger end of the market which gives the Swan a very vibrant feel in a very good way. There is an excellent range of beer and drinks. I stayed on a Monday night in the winter when the kitchen was closed in the evening. There is a nice Italien restaurant 50m away and plenty of other places in town. The cooked breakfast was really good with excellent locally sourced sausges and bacon. The coffee was really good too. The young staff were really lovely. Very helpful, chatty and responsive. They clearly really care about the Swan and talked about what a great place it was. Clearly it is well managed.
