Great location for us as we were at a darts event in Eston. The pub downstairs looked a little tired when we checked in but we were given a warm welcome. Rooms and communal baths/showers/toilets are comfortable and spotless! Tea and coffee facilities and a decent breakfast in the morning were included. Nice fresh towels provided. For the price it is unbeatable value for money.

Stayed here with 2 friends in a room with 3 single beds! The room was spot on, basic but very clean and comfortable! The couple who ran it were very friendly and helpful and you got a nice breakfast in the morning! Paid about £20 a night each for a room for 3. 

It was like walking into the jockey ( shameless) when I got here.
 it's ok no noise from the pub it was clean and the bathrooms were nice the dining room was adequate nothing special was looking forward to the breakfast but only got 2 bacon and 2 eggs and brown toast 
But it was only £29 for the night so was ok

Great value!

Clean and friendly!

Stayed at this Hotel ( Pub with rooms ) on the eastern outskirts of Middlesbrough. The room was clean and bright with tea & coffee making, and as advertised no TV. When we checked in we were informed that it would not be possible to provide breakfast next day and were offered a substantial reduction on our already competitive price.There are no en suite facilities but services are available along the corridor. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed a good night sleep. As it is a Sam Smiths house it only serves products from Sam Smiths and no branded products whatsoever but at prices well below what you would pay elsewhere, bitter at £2.00 per pint and very good it was too! I have to say for our overnight stop it was more than satisfactory. We had breakfast at Weatherspoon's in Thirsk on our way home and had change from our reduction Win Win.

Very Basic but Clean

I stayed here for 1 night and the room was lovely and the staff were polite and helpful but I had big issues with getting from my bedroom to outside. In the hall there was a baby gate with a French bulldog stood staring growling and barking angrily at me and my sister when she came with me after check in to help me with my bags. I have a video clip I took of the dog and the aggressive barking and you can see clearly the dog is trying to get to me and my sister. Not only was there a dog in a ‘no dogs allowed’ hotel there was also a black cat roaming around inside! There at the baby gate was a back door on to I’m assuming a patio bit that nobody could use as the baby gate was blocking it, it would have been useful if public could use it. Personally a dog that aggressive shouldn’t be allowed in a hotel where children stay. I didn’t say anything to the pub staff as I didn’t want to cause a scene. My sister was also shocked and made a joke about why I rented a room in a zoo.

I made a booking with this hotel for two nights during the spring bank holiday weekend on qbook. Five days later I received a poorly written email to say that the rooms weren’t available and they don’t have access to qbook. I was offered no apologies or alternative accommodation emails until I complained about the lack of professionalism from them. The emails I received were poorly written. I would not recommend booking with this hotel.
