Good old fashioned pub with accommodation.Friendly and polite staffGreat breakfast and had excellent evening meal on one night of our two night stay.Rooms clean and comfortable.We have stayed here before and will return.

A warm, friendly welcome in lovely surroundings with a restaurant and excellent food. Staff all friendly and helpful with no stress and all very accommodating. The room was pleasant and all wonderfully clean and well appointed with towels, hairdryer, water, hot drinks and biscuits.

Friendly family run pub. Lovely food and real ales.

Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams.The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful.  The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value.I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome.

Brilliant stay and food. We had our dog with us and they could not have been more dog friendly. We had an evening meal and it was excellent, best cheesecake ever!! All staff were friendly and helpful, could not recommend this pub enough.

I had an overnight stay with my dad. We live a long distance from each other so decided to meet midway. The accommodation and food were excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional. This is a delightful place to stay. I will definitely go again.

The Pub was clean and tidy, the flower display outside was outstanding, a lot of time and effort went into the display all around the pub. The staff were very friendly and watched the football with locals in the dining area they were very very friendly as well. will say here again.10/10

Lovely old fashioned pub with pretty hanging baskets . Our room was large and nicely furnished . The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on and the ensuite had a bath and shower which was fantastic . We couldn't fault the fish and chips that we had in their restaurant and there were 3 choices of real ale on handpump , which made us happy. Breakfast was served between 7.30 and 9.30 and was excellent.  The only downside was the road noise in the morning , but we will be happy to return.

I stayed here instead of booking into a premium inn in the town and this did not disappoint. It was worth the extra drive just to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and very comfy. The highlight was certainly the breakfast it was delicious and it set me up for the day ahead.

Fantastic Place

Lovely village pub, unfortunately the restaurant doesn’t open on Mondays which wasn’t mentioned on Expedia when I booked. However pub gave the option of ordering a takeaway which could be eaten in the pub, as it was I drove to nearby Oakham (4 miles) and had a nice meal.Staff all welcoming and enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Only downside was the shower wasn’t great and there was black mould gathering high up near the ceiling above the shower.

Stayed three nights in this lovely village pub.  The food was excellent.  Rooms were clean, tidy and well equipped. Chris, Yolanda and their staff were all so friendly and welcoming.  Lovely gardens, hanging baskets were gorgeous. They advised local areas to explore.  It was all perfect, wish it could have been a longer stay.

Our party of 9 plus a small dog had lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. From start to finish we were made very welcome we ate outside in the lovely garden. The food was excellent all well presented and the staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. One member of our party has coeliac disease so having a gluten free menu was particularly important and he really enjoyed his pasta dish. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their visit to The White Lion. Thank you.

Good food, lovely garden and a nice atmosphere.

Called in whilst passing through the village. Beautiful pub with rooms. Rooms are busy though which was good to hear. Lovely cosy pub, staff were superb. I only had the beef ale onion pie, veg & chunky chips. The pie was delicious, great flavour & plenty of meat. Homemade, just how I like it. I shall have no hesitation in calling in again for lunch when passing by. Trade was good here for a lunchtime, also shows that the business is doing well. Congratulations to the owners, well done to their staff.

Beautiful lunch

Had a 2 night stay in this lovely pub. Our room was clean and warm and had all the usual facilities - tea ,coffee TV and ensuite bathroom. Food (evening meal and breakfast) we're excellent and reasonably priced too. Service was second to none and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to stay

A charming traditional pub with friendly welcoming staff and locals. I arrived late and they kindly cooked me dinner in advance and kept it for me after the kitchen was closed. Food was delicious.  Really comfy bed and slept like a log. Nice touch of bottled water in the room and biscuits to go with tea and coffee. Breakfast was delicious. Fabulous bacon. For an overnight stop I'd highly recommend.

Super place to overnight 

We had a really lovely evening at the White Lion for a prize presentation.  We were made so welcome by Chris and Yolanda who had also provided a fantastic buffet for us all. We had the additional pleasure of staying overnight.  Our room was cosy and comfortable with a lovely bed and all the touches you could possibly wish for. Our breakfast was plentiful using locally sourced ingredients and beautifully cooked. The garden is fantastic with massive willow trees and wonderful baskets and pots full of colour. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which we would heartily recommend.
