Recently stayed here what can I say, wow. 
Elizabeth and John super hosts nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect for us had everything you need with the added bonus of a balcony.
The accommodation is beautiful and the grounds are wonderful. We took our dog with us who had free range in the grounds and loved playing with the owners dog Minty. 
John recommended somewhere for us to have a meal Saturday night over looking the marina which we really enjoyed.
Would highly recommend the Barnsfield and will definitely be back.

Wow ! Home from home. Except chickens in the garden and a fried breakfast everyday. Well looked after spacious room and hosts who cater for every whim. We’ve stayed in a few decadent hotels yet this service is phenomenal. Well done and thank you. We will be back for sure. 

So ive just spent the past 4 weeks in this amazing little bnb. Well i say "little" its 3 bedrooms two of which are en suite and has a MASSIVE  2 acres of land for a garden that you can help yourself to and chill in.
Christine is quite simply one of the most wonderful people i have ever met, nothing is too much trouble for this woman, from early morning breakfasts coocked just how you like it to even by the end of my stay letting me use her washing machine and even offering to cook me a couple of evening meals. She even went out of her way to buy in some lactose free milk for me once she found out that i couldnt have regular milk ❤❤❤❤❤❤  bare in mind I struggle to get decffe in premier inn.
The red room which i was staying in faces the road to the front of the house but is still really quiet. Its decorated well and in keeping with the rest of the house and its en suite looks new.
I have sung the prases of this bnb to everyone i work with its extreamly good value and welcoming. If your looking for somewhete to stay in the clacton area you need to choose here its MUCH better than some of the bigger chain hotels that the company usually puts me up in.

Modern building which lacks the character of some B&B’s I’ve stayed in but it does have good sized rooms which are clean, well decorated and have good facilities. I had a room at the back overlooking a pleasant garden which was extremely quiet and l slept well. Very friendly owner who offered to provide breakfast at 7.00 for this early riser (normally it’s 09.00). There was a good choice on offer including some really tasty sausages.The only thing I didn’t like was the shared separate bathroom with a dodgy door. Not a problem for me as I was the only guest but would have been a issue if my wife had been with me.

Amazing 

After booking Barnfield B&B several months before, and promptly receiving our confirmation we assumed all was ok! We arrived on the afternoon at the time notified to find “sorry we do not have your booking”. I showed them our booking and I was met by “sorry but we’re full up, we have a wedding party”. I asked what has happened. Barnfield said “Hotels.com have not notified them”. So there we were after a long day with no accommodation. Barnfield allowed us to use their WiFi to locate another B&B. I checked and there was ‘one’ room at ‘one’ hotel. We went and it was full of football supporters. So we had to drive home.
I thought this was an unfortunate, but not usual, mix up. I contacted Hotels.com to complain and they said 
“We have checked your reservation and found out that it was cancelled by the property”
This shed new light on the issue. If Hotels.com are correct then Barnfield have cancelled our accommodation, probably to accommodate the wedding party. Funny thing is if someone had contacted me I would have been miffed, but would have accepted and more importantly ‘found alternative accommodation’.
So is Barnfield a nice place? Look fairly nice.
Are they trustworthy? Based on this evidence, absolutely not.
Would I recommend you book Barnfield? Only if you book a second hotel to cover you if they decide to cancel on the night.
Seems to me we’ve been sold out.
