Penvale Lake Lodges

Having been to penvale lake lodges ( birches vip ) with friends back in 2013 we decided in July 24 to go again with our little boys. And it was the best holiday we’ve had. We stayed in the Ottowa lodge this time. Fabulous lodge. Couldn’t fault it at all. 
We enjoyed an idyllic, quiet and beautiful break with picturesque views of the mountains! Even my 5 year olds loved it !! 
We had lots of wild life around us ( seeing the baby ducklings by my patio door was beautiful ! )
Going again this year 😀

We stayed for 4 nights and it was a beautiful break, lodge was stunning and location was perfect for our days out . Hot tub  & lodge was spotless upon arrival . I read reviews prior to  our holiday and a lot said that the lodges were very tired looking and were in need of repair. This was not the case with ours. We would highly recommend penvale lakes to all our friends and family xx

Me and my sisters aswell as nieces spent a short weekend in these lodges , amazing experience the children enjoyed it especially the swimming pool and the wildlife near by . Amanda was absolutely lovely so courteous and attended to any needs we had , she was caring towards the children and made our stay that bit special . Definitely will be back .

What a beautiful place, the lodge was perfect with a lovely hot tub, perfect views and lots of wildlife, we were a group of 6 women and it was just what we all needed, peaceful, relaxing and 5 mins drive into Llangollen which itself is a beautiful town with plenty to keep you busy, the staff were all lovely and friendly and the swimming pool was an added bonus, we all thoroughly enjoyed Penvale lodges and will most definitely return!

We have just returned from a week at penvale lake lodges the staff were especially helpful before we arrived they sent us videos of the site and our lodge to help our 2 autistic children settle in better and gave us an earlier check in.
The lodge was lovely it had everything u needed for a relaxing holiday the hot tub was fantastic and checked daily.
The swimming pool was clean and inviting u can book it to yourself for an hour which was amazing for us.
The site was clean and beautiful very peaceful as there is a quiet site policy with no music after 11pm which for us again was perfect.
Theres a few walks u can do from the lodge one being to the castle dinas bran it's about 2 miles but the walk is lovely.
The town of llangollen is so picturesque u could easily spend a day just strolling along the canal or around the lovely little shops.
Theres only one thing I would say we stayed in birches lodge 2 which was lovely but a little close to the next lodge when they had lit a bbq and we were in the hot tub we had to get out and go in as we were smoked out.
But all in all would highly recommend to anyone whether a couple or a family great base with lots in surrounding area to see and do.

I booked this lodge to have some quality family time with my husband & 2 sons, their partners & my grandson. The setting was perfect, Lovely & tranquil. The lodge had everything you needed for a perfect stay. There was plenty of space for our party of 7. Large living kitchen dining room leading out onto the huge decking area with its own hot tub &  seating area. It was so nice to sit outside especially at night watching the bats flying overhead. Daytime we were visited by squirrels & ducks which my grandson loved. 2 double bedrooms had en-suite & the third had the family bathroom next door. The 4th bedroom had bunk beds. I can’t honestly fault anything about it. The staff were lovely, approachable & nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Penvale Lodges. It’s only 5 minute drive to Llangollen village which is a lovely place to visit. It’s got everything you need. Thankyou Penvale Lodges for a lovely relaxing stay.

Firstly, the settings of this wonderful place is out of  this world, second,the accomodation is beautiful, we had number 5 lodge, huge, cracker, very spacious, the hot tub was absolutely fantastic,my family loved our visit, staff are super friendly and professional.
 Highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing weekend here celebrating my mums retirement and birthday and my sons birthday. The hot tub was fab it was brilliant sitting in the hot tub whilst it was raining! What an experience! The pool was gorgeously warm to swim in too. The lodge was comfortable and had everything you could need. The deck had a gate which was ideal for keeping the dog secure. We will definitely return!

This accommodation was booked by the other couple we were going on holiday with so had no prior knowledge, I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE HIGHLY ENOUGH!!!! The staff are amazing and even out of hours were straight round to help with anything! The lodge (if you can get number 12 get it, it’s secluded and right on the little lake) is incredible and we will be coming back again very soon! Thank you for everything

We were offered a slightly earlier check in, very good communication before we even arrived! The staff were so, so helpful and friendly. Probably the best staff anywhere I have stayed similar to Penvale. The dryer stopped working and they helped get the towels out and offered to wash them for us and they gave us lots of new towels even though we were leaving the next day. I have mobility issues and the bath/shower was slippy so was going to go to Llangollen to buy a bath mat. My dad asked at reception and they gave him two brand new ones! Pool was nice and we liked that it was private and you could hire it to yourself for an hr. We have a barky dog and were lucky enough (and for the rest of the visitors!) to be in Saltspring Lodge. It was situated over a small lake, by a rushing little river, secure decking, lovely walks for the dog but we were out the way of other lodges so didn’t feel like we were overlooked or that the dog was disturbing the beautiful peace and quiet. Hot tub was lovely and we used it a lot. Free view only on the telly with patchy signal but you don’t go away to watch TV. We had a relaxing time in beautiful peaceful surroundings. We will definitely be returning whenever we can but have seen it’s already highly booked up, quite rightly so x

Went as a family group of 5. Very spacious lodge, there was a rip on one of the sofas and a broken freezer draw but we didn't let that ruin our holiday. We all really enjoyed our break, made better by the lovely staff and amazing wildlife that came to visit. Luckily I'd read a previous review that said take some nuts or bird food, so I did and I didn't regret it. First day I hand fed a duck, day 2 I hand fed a squirrel 😍😍 I was in heaven!! We were visited daily by mallard ducks, mandarin ducks, squirrels, pheasants, sheep, a Robin, a Jay, black birds, crows, a stalk, a heron, and a magpie that brought us shiny gifts. So be warned... You will probably need to buy bird food in bulk. We got through a 5kg bag of bird food, a small bag of mealworms, a small bag of peanuts (they love peanuts) and my personal stash of Walnuts which the squirrels were very happy to see. We had a line of ducks sat on the balcony handrail every morning and waiting for us if we went out. We nearly had a eager squirrel in the lodge a few times 😂 
We will definitely be back!!

Big lodge, Amazing Wildlife

Idyllic place to stay

Just got back from a lovely weekend stay here. Stayed with friends and the lodge was lovely and spacious.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The stay would have been more festive if the lodge was de orated Christmassy.
There was only one champagne flute which was annoying but luckily someone in our group bough plastic ones.
You will need to take cleaning stuff like washing up liquid sponge cloth spray and soap to wash your hands. 
The veranda was very slippy so be careful.
Hot tub was lovely but not heated fully on our first night.
Location is lovely. About 40 mins walk to Llangollen.
I thought the lodge was clean so I complaints there. 
We stayed at Birches lodge. The log burner was out of use but we were told about that before we arrived. And refunded some.
I will definitely return and would recommend.
