Glangrwyney Court

We stayed at Glangrwyney Court as a treat for my 23rd Birthday, I wanted to stay near Abergavenny and this seemed like the nicest hotel in the area. We stayed on a Sunday evening in July, and we were the only guests in the house. The house is beautiful and has a very warm and homely feel. It seemed as if most of the rooms were being refurbished, however there was no work done while we were staying, so this didn't affect us. The owners were very welcoming and offered us advice on the local attractions. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, we loved the dated feel of the decor, very fitting with the house and surroundings. The bed was very comfortable, and the complimentary robes were a nice touch! The bath was massive, so relaxing! The grounds of the property were beautiful, unfortunately it rained during most of our stay, so we didn't have a chance to explore. We were the only guests for breakfast the following morning, a beautifully laid out table was waiting for us by the window. We helped ourselves to some fresh fruit and yogurts while our full welsh breakfast was made. The food was lovely and locally sourced. We also had a lovely grey Persian cat come and sit with us, who was more than welcomed. (The owner did ask if she would like us to take her out, but we insisted she stayed) The cat followed us up to the room and sat on the bed while we got our belongings together ready to leave, so cute! We would definitely stay here again, I would also be keen to see to results of the refurbished rooms, especially the one labelled 'Jacuzzi room'!
