The Moorhouse

We stayed in the Ladywell room for one night last night. What a lovely place! Maggie was so welcoming. We stayed for only one night due to attending a wedding in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer. 
Such a tranquil spot, lovely spacious room in a fabulous building. Spotlessly clean.
Such a charming place.

What a gem of a place. So peaceful. Rooms very comfortable and very clean, nice touches in bathroom, lovely toiletries. Maggie was really friendly, and the tea and cake very nice. Lovely breakfast, will definitely come back.

Maggie is a lovely host and the guesthouse is a real gem. Everything well organised and excellent quality - from the Molten Brown in the bathrooms to the welcoming cake/drink and the splendid breakfast. It felt special to be at the Moorhouse. I hope Maggie and Bill can keep it up. There is an adjoining 4 bed cottage for rent too. The remote location makes this a great place to come and relax.

Just had 4 days at this fab B&B,
Maggie we have to say goes that extra mile for her guests, ablely  assisted by Bill who does all the maintenance....and brings out the tea,toast and the breakfasts plus good local knowledge of where to visit, with a smile

Where can you start...rooms are fantastic, if you need a lunch after one of Maggie's  breakfast then there is something wrong...they  are superb,local produce used and nothing is too much trouble for the pair of them.

Rooms.

Rooms wonderfully clean and airy, lovely sitting room and make the most of the garden of an evening listening to curlews,pheasant and owls...keep an eye out for the bats circling  too.

Places to visit

 A great place to do walking...Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey,The scar house reservoir are all good places to visit along with a plethora  of other places.

Food and Drink.
Definitely  visit the Grantly Inn,fabulous food, Chequers Inn for a carvery is a must, And the Sawley Arms for an evening meal with a stunning pub garden is a worthwhile visit...plus there are so many public houses you pass as driving around you WILL be spoilt for choice.

Once again our very heartfelt thanks go to Maggie & Bill for a fantastic stay.

Stayed in the Moorhouse as part of a visit to the surrounding area, and it exceeded expections. First night had a splendid welcome from Maggie, tea, cake and a real fire just what was needed after a nightmare of a drive. The rooms are warm, roomy and extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast is sourced from local suppliers and really sets you up for the day, Maggie and Bill couldn't have done enough to ensure our stay was as relaxed and comfortable as could be, if you are intending visiting the area, the Moorhouse must be top of your list to stay  in.
