After spending the week in Edinburgh, I spent a glorious weekend in the countryside at Carberry. This was absolutely a 5-star experience for me but please keep in mind that this property is quite old. It was clean but felt quite dated. I thought it added to the ambiance in a way. The library and drawing room set up were what my dreams are made of. I spent much of my time enjoying a book and tea in the library. When I was reading, I was exploring the 50 acres of grounds. The grounds were AMAZING. Tons of trails, beautiful trees and immense peace. Breakfast was included. It was fine. Nothing to write home about but satisfying. I had dinner on property both nights and the food coming out of the kitchen was high quality as was the service. I did have one of the driest Sunday roasts of my life BUT also one of the best Yorkshire puddings. I thought the prices were reasonable for the ambiance, service and quality of food so that was nice. I just adored my time at Carberry. I am so grateful I got to experience such a peaceful historic estate.
