The Harnser

Stopped in for lunch when passing through Cley-Next-The-Sea and received a friendly and warm welcome. The food was great and the staff were personable even when under pressure!  We would definitely recommend and have added it to the  list of places to eat in Norfolk.

We would give the Harnser along with Ronan, Alan, Rocco and Reuben a 100 out of 10 rating. Ronan and Alan were the perfect hosts throughout the whole visit and did everything they could to make us feel at home.

They were amazing with our rescue Frenchie Buster and were accommodating to make him feel more comfortable being a very nervous dog. Ronan and Alan made my birthday meal extra special and even sang Happy birthday to me. 

All of the food was absolutely delicious and everywhere was clean and well decorated. Rocco and Reuben the resident Frenchies were a delight and we loved giving them fuss at every opportunity. We honestly couldn't ask for more from our weekend away and can't wait to return.

Very comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean. The food was excellent with generous portions. Two charming French bulldogs to greet us and check that we ate all our delicious breakfast.

Just had 2 nights at the Harnser with my wife and French bulldog Franco . From the moment we arrived Ronan and Alan made us feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us . The breakfast was amazing . Franco was made to feel special as they have 2 lovely frenchies themselves . We can’t wait to go back again as we had such a lovely short break 

We stumbled upon the Harnser on a wet walk to Cley.  The owner was incredibly welcoming to our family and served the children the best hot chocolate with big marshmallows.  

We returned for dinner on the last night of our holiday.  Again, the owner was very warm and welcoming.  The food was delicious - homely, well cooked, good quality ingredients.  We had a lovely evening.

This was a gem of a find and we will return next time we visit the area.

We stayed in the quaint B&B while we were in Norfolk for a friends wedding. We stayed 2 nights. The food was fabulous! The room lovely and the village very picturesque. And Ronan the owner was delightful.

A gem on the Norfolk coast

2 nights break in north Norfolk 

Fantastic, warm and welcoming 

What a friendly, snuggly retreat in North Norfolk. The owners couldn't be more welcoming and we had great service despite this being one of their busiest weekends. We didn't realise that they did food in the evenings so we had booked elsewhere. When we returned in the evening we sat in the lounge (they keep a few seats round the wood burner for guests) What we saw of the food that other diners were eating - it looked good and there were a lot of smiling faces. Beakfast was very good with the best local ingredients. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a separate bathroom which I was a little concerned about but it worked fine. The shower was ok but i'm spoilt by our power shower at home - but it was hot and wet so it did the job.

We were staying in Cley although not here.  Now, we would not normally consider a B&B as somewhere to go for lunch but that is exactly what it does do.  Inside it had the feel of a pub and bizarrely seemed to cater better for the locals popping in for a pint than then the pub about 50m down the road.  Pre lunchtime it was great for teas, coffee etc.  Doesn't open until 11:00 and so no breakfasts unless you are staying there.  Fair enough.  OK, it is not going to compete with a pub for food options but a nice choice of toasties for lunch plus a couple of salad options.  It does open in the evening but again the dining options are limited and typically cold platters / salads.  But after a few days of eating too much then nice to have something that does not come with chips.  Had a really nice relaxed feel to it.  No menu visible from the outside (an omission in my opinion) so a bit of a leap of faith.  But were a short walk away and so no big deal.  We could have simply gone somewhere else.

An absolute gem of a B&B we found online although we called and booked directly via Ronan the owner.
Our private bathroom was literally across the hallway from our room and had everything we needed.
The room was also clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The breakfasts we had were absolutely lovely and the choice of what was offered was excellent.  We had dinner too for both nights of our stay and can highly recommend the fish board and pies.
We will be back!

Wonderful b&b, fantastic location

A big a thank you to Ronan and Alan, we had an excellent time. The room was superb and we really enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfast. The seafood platter was delicious and the guiness was the best I've had outside of Dublin. Ronan went above and beyond to look after us and was so entertaining as well.

Great experience and accommodation.

We popped in here for a reviving coffee halfway through a walk. We hadn’t long had breakfast, but we were tempted by the fresh scones. We shared a Bakewell scone – it was absolutely superb. The gentleman behind the bar was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and he even supplied us with directions for the next stage of our walk – helping us to discover a lovely route that wasn’t in the guide book.

We went back two days later and made sure we were there at lunchtime. The cranberry and brie toasties were outstanding. 

The décor is smart and stylish and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

We’ll definitely be back again.
