Wonderful hosts, beautiful area, linens and cooking utensils provided, as well as a few tea bags and coffee sachets for a cuppa and a sit down when you arrive! easy self check in with amenable hosts. 10/15 min walk to the local high street, and ample parking space. a great self catering stay - does the job, i would happily recommend and stay again. thank you!

It’s was very good that you can spend time together and make memories

As always, chalet was clean, tidy and comfortable. The surrounding is lovely and perfect for biking, kayaking and boating.

The setting is beautiful, and my hosts were lovely. Will definitely come again.

A lovely quiet spot by the water. Excellent, friendly communication. The cabin was cosy and very clean.  We really appreciated the addition of the fan in the warmer weather! We did have an issue with the shower which is a bit of a faff but the staff were excellent and got it sorted, making sure we knew what to do (thank you Grant!). Location is handy for travelling into London yet felt like a rural retreat being next to the water. Kids loved the geese! The cabin is right next to the busy railway line which might bother some but we found that sound quite relaxing really and missed it once we were back home to our very rural silent setting!

Our family of three had a wonderful visit. Everything was just as described. Such a tranquil location. Would definitely visit again.

Stayed for a whole week. Property is warm, comfortable, clean and the owner is so helpful and freindly.. really recommend this place...what a beautiful place beside the river, wildlife was incredible and i will be staying here again for sure.. just perfect

Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Very close to a main trainline into London but we knew this as visiting friends having previously lived in Broxbourne. Didn't bother us.Sofa not comfortable to sit & enjoy TV. Very hard. Only other negative was the twin beds. Despite the mattress toppers, the springs in the mattresses have gone. They do need replacing. Sadly we had an uncomfortable few nights sleep!

Chalet B - One Bedroom (Twin)

Clean, cosy and relaxing cabins

I couldn’t have really asked for a better stay. It was a little slice of heaven for me. The chalet reminded me of my childhood 80’s holidays which I loved. Right by the river, in a gorgeous location. I had the weather on my side, which always helps of course. Parking right next to the cottage. Key safe and a gate to close once you’re inside the little chalet complex. The train track behind the chalets didn’t bother me at all. The guys running the place were brilliant and their communication was great. Inside it had everything I needed. Fridge with a small freezer compartment, tv, microwave, cooker, kettle etc. but just sitting out on the deck by the river with a glass of red was absolutely bliss. I’ll definitely be coming back.

A little slice of heaven

tidy , compact , ideal for somewhere to rest , as i stayed in october  i wasn't there for the weather , would be very pleasant  in the summer ,only disappointing thing would be the location quite near the railway lines so quite a bit of noise , but did not spoil my stay ,  overall would definately return

I really enjoyed staying in this chalet,the people working there are amazing.Always smiling,very professional,and so helpful.The chalet was very clean,confortable apart for the mattress of the smaller room,but I will definitely come back and I will recommend it.Thank you so much to the staff who works there.Sandrine

Fantastic atmosphere

The chalet was cosy, comfortable and in a good state of repair. I was able to park my car right next to the chalet. Cutlery, cooking utensils and other kitchen essentials were provided, including a pint of milk! The staff on-site were friendly and informative, plenty of information about the local area was provided and the view over the river was beautiful (what better way to start the day than being greeted by a family of swans!) Excellently priced and in my opinion, more bang for my buck than I would have got at a hotel costing double the price. The only slight negative was the train tracks behind the site, but soon got used to the noise and it didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended, would definitely stay again.

A hidden gem

Lovely location - the chalet is good value and reasonably comfortable.  It's not a hotel bed but I slept well.  Decent TV, nice kitchenette and everything I needed was there.  Perfect for a morning run, evening walks / bike rides down the river.  Bed and bathroom were a little dated but fine for my purposes.

Lovely spot and decent facilities.

A friendly and helpful welcome - my host picked me up from the station! The chalet was warm and comfortable and very peaceful over the Christmas period, though the trains could be noisy at other times. The facilities were good except the bathroom which needs attention ..
