Great place easy to find car parking easy and free. Rooms comfortable neat tidy and clean. Good selection of tv channels including netflix if you desired. We came down for a mates bday had drinks before and after going out to town in the bar area. Pub full of character nice bar area. Great area with stage for bands and crowds. The staff were welcoming friendly and helpful. Outside area is lovely as well plenty of benches chairs etc. Would highly reccomend we will actually come back again just to have a night out at the pub itself

Stayed a couple of nights in the week.  Had a very satisfying stay there.  The room was very comfortable and better than I expected for the price.  Had a few drinks in the pub and had a good laugh with the staff.  Andy was very accommodating and his wife Lisa is lovely.  They make a good team.  Will definitely stay there again if I go to Guildford on business again 

Fantastic music venue, great food and wonderful staff. Well worth a visit check out the website  always lots going on and accommodation available as well as sports and social events Good size venue with adequate free parking 

Went to the Holroyd for an evening of live music and decided to stay over. The room was clean and tidy and the hosts Lisa and Andy were excellent. The bar had been recently refurbished and it looks great, a perfect place for live music. The pub garden is also a nice place to chill out complete with outside bar. The only downside was the number of Happy Hammers around but you can't have everything :-)

Booked a room here because it was cheap, my wife and I were going to see Sarah Millican in Guildford and just wanted a place to crash.
First impressions were that its a good bar with friendly locals and staff and well kept beer. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, lovely fluffy towels. The food looked good so we ate at the Holroyd rather than go out in town and it was delicious.
After the Millican gig we came back instead of drinking in town, again because we liked the place, quality live music going on, had an excellent night.
Would definately stay here again if we're back in the area and have even discussed coming up for a weekend break.

What a fabulous night. Tribute band was extremely good. Landlady was very welcoming and our overnight stay was lovely. Bedroom was spacious and completely faultless. Warren and I are looking forward to going back for the night next month for Madness Tribute. Would highly recommend this lovely pub to anyone.

I came because I needed a place to stay whilst having a stomach surgical procedure at the local Nuffield hospital.
The staff were very friendly and made me very welcome and turned what was quite a scary time for me into a mini-vacation. Room was spacious and very clean,
The food and drink and service was great and the music - especially the live band were excellent!

Both myself a hubby arrived here for a punk weekend, The very minute we walked in we were greeted by the land lady, she was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was fine comfy bed, clean and plenty of room. We fully recommend you eat here food and drinks are fantastic very reasonably priced to. We can't wait to return back here to visit this place. :)

Have had 2 roast dinners delivered during lockdown and I cannot
 recommend it enough, homemade and absolutely awesome, delicious you surely should try it. Recommended to my other family members and have all said will definitely be back. Thank you 

Excellent venue, really switched on and friendly staff. Bags of character and really down to earth. Excellent listings of live bands and club nights. Really convenient too. Wish we had discovered it years ago.

Style Council Tribute

One of the friendliest places I've ever stayed in the UK

Went on the last weekend in May for a reunion weekend with lots of old friends. Great venue with a fantastic garden. Excellent service even when very busy on the Saturday. Ellie & Lowri were superstars, keeping their cool and their smiles all through. Also brilliant service by Jess on the Friday and the lovely Lisa all weekend. The burger on Saturday was delicious and the Sunday lunch very tasty and a very generous portion. Highly recommended for a relaxing drink or a fun night.

FANTASTIC Friendly place 

Went to see a Stranglers tribute band called Straighten Out yesterday with son at The Holroyd Arms (Suburbs) venue.  We pre-booked a room for the night a month before and I must say that every aspect of our time there was superb.  A friendly land lady pointed us in the right direction for a pub in town (a Stranglers 1974 first gig pub) 

We came back and settled into our comfortable room which was warm, clean and spacious.  We then took the very short walk over the the pub to watch Straighten Out perform.

A very nice little venue, good sound and great atmosphere with friendly bar staff.  I forgot to get my change on a round of drinks and the girl remembered me and gave me the £3 when I returned for our next round, love the honesty..

Easy free parking, and remember to put your registration number into the parking meter on the bar.

The following morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast before we departed.

A top class weekend and hats off to The Holroyd Arms for making us feel so welcome.

Great Weekend

Found myself having to stay the night in Guildford. I must say I can't really understand the negative reviews. 
I turned up, checked in at the bar. Locals were friendly enough and as I can read signs I knew I had to register my car number plate on a tablet at the bar. Took about thirty seconds. Friendly staff showed me room in the annexe. Absolutely fine. 
Comfy bed. Bathroom basic but perfectly adequate. 
Had food at the bar. One or two items not on but quite a big menu. 
Seemed to be some kind of house music event on in pub so went back to room after a quick pint and chilled out. 
I paid 55 quid and was perfectly happy. Not sure what people expect for that.
