The Battledown Bed And Breakfast

The Battledown B&B is a welcoming and friendly home away from home. My partner and I felt very much at home during our stay and were welcomed and greeted at our arrival. Everything was clean and comfortable and above expectations. They were happy to provide us with some plant based milk and vegan cookie for our room and gave us some recommendations to do during our stay. All in all we would highly recommend staying there. Thank you Sarah, Simon and Isabella.

We stayed here for just one night and had a fab time. We are vegan and really appreciated the extra effort Sarah went to getting us vegan cookies alongside the options they already had for breakfast. We haven’t had anyone go to so much effort for us anywhere else, so thank you. They have thought about all the small things, for example hot water bottles and slippers provided and a fridge for the guests. Would recommend for a relaxing break.

My partner and I wanted to go to the Cotswolds for a couple of days over half term and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay!

We sat down and Sarah was offered us tea immediately which was lovely after a long journey. There was also homemade biscuits. Sarah was a gracious and kind hostess as she clearly knew the area well. She gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and also what to visit in the area. This really helped us to plan our stay to suit what we would wanted to do and the location of the B&B meant we were close to all the key areas.

The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The shower was so good we made sure to take one before left the B&B. The B&B lives up to all of its great reviews and more. Also, the B&B is definitely COVID secure!

Finally, breakfast! The home made croissants live up reviews and the marmalade and jam are equally scrumptious. Sarah was ever so humble about breakfast but you can tell she really cares about her customers. Honestly, do NOT miss breakfast, it is worth every penny and is very good value for money.

The Battledown is a home from home. Very friendly and comfortable. The rooms are immaculate. The breakfast is very good with several home made preserves. We have already booked another visit. Thank you Sarah and Simon. See you next year!

We stayed at the Battledown for 2 nights in October.  Covid restrictions were in place and we weren't sure how this would impact upon our visit in terms of eating out etc.  

Simon & Sarah were great hosts and made recommendations on where to eat out all of which were spot on.  They'd previously agreed to let us bring back take-out if the Covid restrictions meant we were unable to eat out together.  Fortunately this did not prove necessary.

The B&B itself is really well equipped with loads of thoughtful touches.  I had a double room to myself with a really comfortable bed and great shower.  Breakfast was pre-ordered and excellent with most ingredients being locally sourced.  Loved the home made jam and marmalade.  Sarah kept the toast coming until we could eat no more!

There is an on-site car park which was a real bonus.  Can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else if we make a return visit to Cheltenham next year.

A really Great b+b, great service , very clean/tidy and really well equipt. 

Would absolutely return when next in Cheltenham.

Friendly welcome, well decorated throughout, lovely bedroom, very comfortable with an excellent shower. Don't be fooled by the 'continental' breakfast - bacon & eggs are available and the breakfasts are enough to keep you going the whole day. The jams & marmalade are home made and delicious. Thoroughly recommended!

Stayed here 18/19/20 September with friends. This is a brilliant place to stay, the hosts Sarah & Simon are very welcoming as you are a guest in their lovely home. The bedrooms are clean and have everything you need for a one or more night stay. Prices are keen and the breakfasts are very good. Nothing is too much and we were looked after, even when resting after a long day in the garden. The city centre is approx 20 mins walk away with plenty of eating out options. I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in Cheltenham many times in hotels and other quality B&Bs but once we found the Battledown there is nowhere else for us.
Sarah and Simon are very congenial hosts who give you the feeling nothing is too much trouble. 
Sarah is a superb host, Simon cooks a cracking breakfast (whether it’s full English, eggs in various guises, croissant, fruit, it’s all top quality and well cooked).
The rooms are immaculate with nothing left wanting.
Nowhere else compares, and I’ve spent many a night in numerous hotels on business over the last 3 decades.

Stayed 3 nights with friends while on way to Cornwall. Lovely warm welcome from Sarah with tea on arrival. We had 2 rooms upstairs and they were very comfortable and tastefully decorated - in fact the whole house was impressive. Great cooked breakfast with good choice. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Cannot fault The Battledown in any way, an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Sarah & Simon were most welcoming of us into their beautiful home. We felt 100% safe with the Covid measures in place. The room was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. The home cooked breakfast was fantastic (try their homemade beans!) and we even picked up some tips for our marmalade making next year after trying their delicious homemade rosemary and ginger variety! Thank you so much for helping us have a memorable weekend.

Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful and filled you up for the day. 

The property is very well looked after to a very high standard. Beautiful gardens to relax in. The Battledown is very clean and the hosts make you feel so welcome and are very friendly.

There were lovely little bits and bobs which give a lovely feel to your stay in our room that you dont get in other places.

Plenty tea,coffee,sugar,milk etc and hot chocolate and  biscuits in your room and these were always replaced.

Will be staying here next time we are in Cheltenham and visiting the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now we have fuund The Battledown.
