Deb and Bev were great very friendly place, lovely food.
if its a stay or a stepping off point for a night on the toon, i can not recomend a better place for the money, get a room facing the tyne for an excelent view, the resteraunt faces the tyne and sitting ther for breafast looking out is great.

A lovely hotel we stayed at for a weekend break. The staff were first class. Very courtious and polite. Hotel was very clean. Rooms were serviced daily. Bed was a little on the small side for a double. A half hour walk to nearest metro station made this an ideal base.

I recently stayed at the Rivers Hotel for three nights.  The room was warm and very clean, and the bed was  SO comfortable. The room had a wonderful view of the river.  All of the staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive:  nothing was too much trouble for them. Best of all, people with autism were being trained in various aspects of the hospitality trade and they were so dedicated and lovely, a joy to meet. I shall definitely be using this hotel again and I recommend it wholeheartedly.


I work there as a internship from Gateshead college and my favourite food is the onion rings are absoultely amazing and the staff who work there are very helpful to everyone they have a diner bus too!

we just had our son's 7th birthday party here, great party package, just provide your own entertainment. they even provided balloons.

Food was great for the kids, loads of it, and lots of compliments from the other parents. 

Staff are friendly and helpful. and couldn't do enough. 

Really cool bus, where we had the food portion of the party, well equipped function room also, and a little climbing frame for the kids

I would highly reccomend. 

We visited the hotel recently as we were thinking of hiring the venue's function room for my wife's 50th birthday party. Since a river view room was available for a very reasonable price we decided to have lunch and then stay over. We absolutely loved the hotel, the location is fantastic, the room was basic but very smart, clean and comfortable. We're going to confirm our function booking today and we've already decided to go back for two nights next week, even though we only live 10 minutes away. When staying in venues like this, what makes a memorable and positive impression more than anything else is the attitude and effort of the staff team, and that was particularly evident in this instance: Bev at Reception and Sarah the Manager were the epitome of helpful, friendly professionalism. Chris, who was working in the Diner is also a great asset to the venue. We'll look forward to our next visit.

Fab place friendly staff nice location the diner is great, my personal favourite the big daddy breakfast, 2 eggs, 3 sausages, 3 bacon rashers, black pudding, 2 hash browns, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and a slice of toast with butter for £4 !!!!! Think I've been back for about ten in all honesty give it a go. 

We were staying at an AirBnb flat at Friars Wharf just across the road when we noticed the Rivers Hotel. Initially, we enquired about breakfast the next morning but ended up having the breakfast, the evening meal and the breakfast the next day as well! The food is unbelievably good value and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a bus that had been converted into an 'American-style' diner and we asked if we could have our breakfast on the bus for the first morning - just for the novelty! The staff were absolutely fine about this and we had a great breakfast there!
This really is a hidden gem of Gateshead and I hope to return soon!

Very good time at the hotel. Staff were very attentive and for the cost of the whole time there it was very very good. Location on the Tyne was lovely too. The food was really really nice and the price of the food was more than reasonable.

I had a quick meeting to attend in Newcastle and needed a place to stay with good car parking, and within easy reach of the centre of Newcastle. The Rivers Hotel was just about 15 mins from the centre of Newcastle subject to traffic conditions. The Hotel is as promised right on the River Tyne, and has within the building an eatery.
The eatery was open for food until 7.00 p.m. However the bar remained open later.
This Hotel is great  for accommodation with a River view.
The staff are very friendly.
