Thank you Whitemead for a wonderful Christmas, all your staff are friendly, helpful and make you  feel so welcome. Facilities on site good for all ages.
We were so  pleased to see the new cafe that takes dogs, we used it a lot.
Our granddaughter was 3 months old on our first Christmas, now 21 and has loved it every year. Thank you all very much, see you next year.🤞

What can we say. We stayed over the Christmas period, booking the Christmas lunch. Wow, we couldn't fault it 10 out 10 for Quality 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, the staff were extremely friendly, the food oozed flavour, it was very presented.
The shower/toilet block looked new, clean & warm. The prices in the bar and restaurant were fair. Thank you Whitemead for a great Christmas.

Very lovely and well layout park.  Very eco friendly and set in part of Forest of Dean.  We had a dog friendly log cabin, which was well though out and comfortable.  We had a hot tub, which was already heated and ready to use when we arrived.  The shop is quite small and not a huge amount of choice.  The cafe seemed nice but we did not use this.  As we had our dogs with us we had to sit outside on the terrace when we decided to have a drink from the bar, we were lucky with the weather and it was warm enough to sit on the terrace.  Crazy golf is brilliant, we had such a good laugh.  We were only there for two nights so didn't have too much time to enjoy some of the forest walks.  Very closely situated to Parkend village where there is a village shop and a couple of pubs in walking distance.  The little bag they gave us when we arrived was such a nice welcome.  Our dogs got a blanket, treats, tennis ball and they also supplied some pooh bags!  We also got a small amount of washing up liquid, cleaning cloth and tea towel.  Easy check in.  The staff were lovely and very helpful.  Will definitely go back.  Would highly recommend.

The park is really well placed with walking and cycling on your doorstep. 
We stayed in a lodge with a hot tub. The lodge had good space, warm and had everything needed. The hot tub is an excellent addition after a day walking and cycling and was well tended with 2 visits a day to maintain it.
The pool area is another great facility with 2 jacuzzis and a steam room although the sauna was out of action for the duration of our stay 
Food in the bar was good.
In the summer I imagine the outside space would be fantastic for kids.
Overall great, highly recommended and we will return.

We stayed 4 nights, we originally booked a Mega Pod X & this would have been ideal but unfortunately it was too small for the 2 of us & our 2 90kg Newfoundland Dogs. I went to reception to see if any other accommodation was available & the ladies on duty couldn't of been more helpful & managed to find us an apartment  on the ground floor which was amazing. It had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was excellent & the service from the bar & restaurant  was amazing as was the entertainment manager. We will be back for sure as found our stay very enjoyable.

We stayed @ Whitemead over Christmas, 23rd to 27th December with our 2 children & dogs in a log cabin with hot tub. We had a wonderful time! The pantomime on the 23rd was brilliant, 5 cast members (I think) worked very hard to entertain us all (O yes they did) 
The wind band with carols on the 24th was lovely. We spent Christmas Day in the cabin & on Boxing Day we went to The Woodman Inn for lunch which was delicious! Bingo in the evening & a little bit of listening to the singer before a final dip in the hot tub! 
Daily we walked in the forest with our boys which is beautiful & somehow always ends at a pub 🤪

The only issue we had was that the internet was down for the first 24hours but the team worked hard to resolve this (which they did) 

We have been coming to Whitemead for 10 years (this is my first review) staying in tents, apartments & cabins. We have always found the staff very helpful & eager to please. Well done team! See you in the Summer!

Our family stayed there 3 nights in between Christmas. Despite the weather we had a great time the children aged 8 and 10 enjoyed the swimming, bike rides, golf, and early evening entertainment. The young lady who ran the mini disco did an excellent job.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. We plan to return later in the year

We took a visit here with our family for a meal and crazy golf whilst in the area. All 22 of us could not fault the staff, food or the atmosphere. The food was delicious and at a good price, Danielle was very attentive and could not do more for us.
We played crazy golf which was also fun for all the family!
All in all, a great day out. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a family meet up there today as family are from all over. There was 22 of us in total and Danielle who helped with booking and orders was brilliant. There was no hiccups food was amazing and all staff we dealt with were great. Played crazy golf and great value for what we had. Plenty of kids and adults to do. Will definitely be using this regularly for our meet ups.

We went with a party of 22 people for a meal and this place is amazing and I couldn't fault it , the staff were all great especially danielle who sorted meals for us all and I couldn't fault her...nothing was too much trouble for her place is amazing with so much to do food was absolutely fantastic we all loved it here and will definatly be coming back here .

Wonderful Christmas

FIVE stars

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve stayed at Whitemead.  Probably since the early nineties and not quite every year.  The last ten or so times has been out of season.  There’s nothing better than a walk through the Forests on a cold morning.

It’s good to see that they are maintaining the properties.  The apartments must be a fair age and I’ve seen an array of different colours, furniture styles and kitchens.  They are looked after.  As are the grounds.

Is it perfect?  No, of course not. The WiFi didn’t work.  There’s loads of hotspots - that’s not the difficulty.  They were all offline (failing to connect new devices).  I did report it and was told that it was working!  What a daft thing to say.  All for the sake of a five minute reset.

We ate at several of the local pubs.  Food is great in the Fountain and Woodsman.  We’ve never used the on-site restaurant - don’t know why.  I suppose with such good pubs nearby, it would be a pity to miss out.  There’s no entertainment in the winter, though the pool is always open.  Elsewhere in the ‘forest most attractions are shut.  Those that are open through the winter are shut mid-week.  But that’s not what I go there for: walking, reading, eating out and being with friends.

Oh, and one last thing, bring a torch!  You’ll get run over walking on the unlit road to the pubs without one.

It’s like an old friend

Brilliant, amazing.  Such a lovely setting, peaceful and clean.  Friendly staff.

Myself and my family recently stayed in 2 dog friendly apartments (one of which had been renovated) Nice spacious apartments which suited our family perfectly. 
We have visited the site for over 15 years and find the staff are polite and very hard working. 
Sarah, the entertainments manager is amazing and my children get so excited to see her on each of our visits. 
Myself and my sister danced the night away on New Years Eve and enjoyed the magic show on New Year’s Day (even the part where I had to lay on the stage and have knives being juggled over my face). 
Looking forward to seeing the new restaurant and entertainment renovation when we visit in the Easter. 
Would love some more day time activities for the kids when it is raining (which it did a lot of during our stay). 

New Year break 23/24

The park is in an ideal location and staff are always friendly. 

This is our second NY and although we enjoyed the trip there were areas that did not live up to last year.   In particular the entertainment.  There was Karaoke on the Saturday which meant we basically paid to listen to people who could not sing.  Also the program stated a late night disco but everything stoppped after the karaoke.  NY eve band were entertaining but really not relevant for all of our party members.  Maybe a band that sang music from all eras would be more appropriate for this type of eve.   The entertainer on the Sunday was repetitive and dull! 

It is a big park and one pool table does not reflect this.  We like the fact that is is not full of amusements but one pool table means people are eating for nearly 2hrs to access it!   Two extra tables would make such a difference. 

We stayed in an apartment which was clean but becoming tired, the curtains fell off rails twice and they are not easy to put back up! 

We would like to bring our dog at some point but put off by the reviews about no where inside to go.  Surely a way to support this would be to have some heaters outside and access to order outside as well?  

We are due to visit again in a few months and it would be good to be able to see changes to outside area so families can enjoy their dogs.   

Entertainment Disappointment

Whitemead is in a beautiful setting . There are numerous walks from your doorstep and they have a very good entertainment venue . Good food in the restaurant and two good pubs in the village if you feel like a change . There is lots for everyone to do. We only had two negatives . Some of The staff that tend to the park ,drive around very fast , as there are children playing everywhere , it is an accident waiting to happen . And the toilet and shower block was grubby . There was a sticky red sweet stuck to the shower wall during our whole stay and someone had spayed cleaning fluid in the mens wash basins but failed to wipe them , so the blobs of cleaner were still there the next morning . It’s an expensive site , not a cheap one I personally expect more .

Beautiful

A very family and dog friendly site. Perfect for late winter/early spring as there are so many activities to do. This was our second February trip.

2 minor issues are that dogs are not allowed inside the centre at all (not a problem really). So it would be nice if the terrace could have heaters, so you can have a meal or pint without freezing. 

Secondly, be aware that there is pretty much zero signal. They do state they have free wifi but it is set up so badly, I only managed to log on to it about twice a day (which enabled me to check in on my family back home). 
But the food points and friendly staff far out way the issues. We plan to go again next February half term and possibly this October too!
