We stayed at Cuddy's Croft for a week and enjoyed our break very much. Fantastic welcoming hosts and the cottage is really well situated for popping into the pretty little neighbouring villages as well as days out in Bamburgh, Berwick, Lindisfarne etc. Looking forward to returning.

First time staying in Northumberland and certainly made the right choice staying in Homildon House at Spylaw Farm. 
Homildon House is well fitted out with everything you’ll need for that perfect getaway along with that home from home feeling. It’s a lovely quiet rural retreat with a fantastic private enclosed garden, but close enough to the coast to enjoy Bamburgh beach, Holy Island and not far to Berwick on Tweed. We’ll certainly be back for the welcoming scones and jam if nothing else.

We have visited Northumberland often and love the area, this was our first time staying at Cuddy's Croft and it definitely won't be our Last. The accommodation is perfect for a couple looking for a cozy well equipped place to stay whilst exploring this lovely part of the country. The owners Lorna and Andy could not have been any more welcoming and the cream tea that was left for us on arrival was lovely. The cottage is within easy reach of Bamburgh, Seahouses, Lindersfarn and Craster where the crab sandwiches at the Jolly Fisherman are a must. The Well House coffee shop  and Sunnyhills Farm for breakfast at Belford are well worth a visit.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough.   

We really enjoyed our 4 night break at Cuddy’s Croft. The facilities are excellent (once you’ve mastered the oven controls 🤔) and the heating protected us from the winter weather outside perfectly.

Superb location, brilliant night skies and birds a plenty in the garden. 
Thoroughly recommended and good value too. 

This was our second stay in Homildon House at Spylaw (which should tell you that we enjoyed our first visit). The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped, and we were welcomed by a roaring log fire and some freshly made scones. Lorna and Andy were great hosts and close at hand if needed. Spylaw is in a lovely area and not far from the stunning beaches of Northumberland.

This was our ninth visit in ten years. We come back again and again because Spylaw is our own piece of heaven. The objective is Relaxing, or ‘chillin’ ‘ as Adam, Rowan and Rob, our Twenty something’s call it! The weather doesn’t really matter, the scenery and beaches are stunning whatever the climate sends us! Homildon House is wonderfully clean, warm and cosy. Andy and Lorna are wonderful hosts and have become true friends. We can’t recommend this little slice of heaven enough.......as long as you don’t go when we want to!!!

Lovely place to stay. We have stayed in both Homildon and Cuddy's several times.  Always welcoming and relaxing. Great location for the coast, The Cheviots and taking a trip  to Edinburgh and the border towns. Accommodation is always clean and cosy and hosts are very welcoming and helpful. 

Thank you Andy & Lorna for another fantastic visit, The cottage is beautiful,always spotlessly clean, and the welcome is always warm and friendly. The fresh bread and scones are such a lovely touch, nothing ever seems to be too much trouble so you both deserve the success you have achieved but not too much that you are always fully booked and no room for us. ha ha ha Looking forward to our next visit already. This well equipped cosy retreat provides a welcome break. It was chilly outside on one of the days so we made a log fire in the evening.  The cottage is tucked away, but within easy driving of many lovely tourist locations and the coast. The scones and hospitality tea tray was a thoughtful and welcome touch.

excellent place to chill and unwind, arrived after a wrong turning to the racing stables!! little gem views for miles we stayed in Homildon cottage with my Hubby's elderly Parents, the cottage if fully contained, clean and comfortable, fortunately we had good weather, but even the weather is bad there's lots to in Northumbria, freshly made scones on arrival and fresh bread as well, lots of farm pets for company, especially liked the old sheep who waited patiently every morning for a treat,  would definitely return. Peacefull

After navigating a few windy country roads we arrived at spylaw and instantly fell in love with it. We were given a warm welcome by the proud owner who was also tending to his sheep. On getting into the accommodation, we noticed that an afternoon tea had been set up which was a good touch. The room was everything we asked for, the only downside was the bathroom been next to the communal area. 

The breakfast is all locally sourced and filled you up for the day, you could tell both pride and skill went into cooking it. Will definitely visit again and have already recommended to friends.

Quintessentially Cosy

We really enjoyed our four days at Spylaw Farm. The location was wonderful and we enjoyed walking around the farm (and meeting the sheep and other animals). It's about half an hour to Seahouses (where you can get a boat out to the Farne Islands), and close to Lindisfarne where you can drive at low tide. A pleasant base to explore the area from. 
We were very lucky to have Homildon house to ourselves for 3 days. Lorna and Andy were very welcoming and full of advice. The breakfasts were fantastic (try the pancakes), the facilities excellent (kitchen, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee) so it is well set up for self catering. Thank you for our stay!
