Friendly welcoming place to stay very close to local places of interest. Accommodation was warm, comfortable and well stocked. Fantastic plentiful breakfasts great family run business - and friendly cats! Would recommend highly to all.

I spent 5 nights at Bramlies and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. It's a beautiful place with bright, clean and comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. Alison, the owner is a lovely, considerate and helpful person who made sure that I could visit all local places I wished to see, and even helped me when I needed to visit the local clinic. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect visit to Dorchester. Seeing the hedgehog in the garden was icing on the cake for this American visitor. I can't say enough to recommend staying at Bramlies B&B.

My wife and I stayed at Bramlies B&B for 5 nights during July 2024 and were absolutely delighted with our time spent there ! The accommodation is clean and comfortable, the area is quiet and relaxing and the bed was so comfortable. 
Our host Alison was exceptional ! We were welcomed with a big smile , tea and cake upon arrival and were served a plentiful and delicious breakfast on the decking area al fresco every morning at the time of our choosing . Alison was always happy and willing to give advice and recommendations about the local area and the best places to visit while we were there.
We highly recommend Bramlies as the perfect place to stay when visiting Dorchester and the surrounding area. We have reserved to stay there again next summer when we travel from Hong Kong to spend time with my brother and his family in nearby Poundbury .

A peaceful little spot with such a helpful and welcoming host. I particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine, and the homemade jams are delicious! Very pleased I picked this over one of the chain hotels - it made travelling for work so much more enjoyable.

Exceptional service from Alison (and family) who ensured that all of our needs were met. On arrival we were greeted with tea and homemade cake. Alison prepared a delicious and plentiful breakfast each day, which in addition to a cooked breakfast, also included a fresh fruit platter and home made jams to accompany toast. Alison provided recommendations for places to eat and where to visit in Dorchester and surrounding areas. My highlight was the Roman Town House and walk by the river, if Alison hadn’t recommended I never would have known they were there. Would thoroughly recommend Bramlies B&B to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break, good food and an incredibly hospitable host.

A wonderfully quiet place, tucked away in the back garden of the property, the room was warm, comfortable and cosy. Very conveniently located to explore the local area, just a short drive into Dorchester, or it is walkable too.

Alison provided tea and cake on arrival, which was delicious and very much welcome. We were very well looked after throughout, and felt like friends as well as guests. Alison is extremely knowledgeable of the surrounding area and provided us with leaflets and guidance of things to do whilst in Dorchester.

The breakfasts were epic, three courses, and kept us full for the day! Cooked breakfast was perfect, my husband had the full English and I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg. And the homemade marmalade was divine, a bonus being able to take a jar home with us. It is these little touches that make it stand out. 

My daughters loved it too and didn’t want to leave. We will return as we have more exploring to do. Look forward to catching up again soon: Thank you so much.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and have booked another stay already.  Alison is friendly and accommodating and is helpful with information or tailoring things to suit.  Her homemade marmalades are delicious and it’s a bonus being able to take the jar away.  The tea and cake on arrival are most welcome.  The Garden Suite is spotlessly clean and comfortable.  The B&B is conveniently located and has parking at the front.  The rooms are, as the name suggests, in a purpose built building to the rear of the property and the location is quiet as it is on the edge of the town.  Breakfast is excellent.  The fruit platter is great and so are the other elements of breakfast.  A good place to stay whether for business or leisure.  

We returned today from two nights at bramlies we took my elderly mother in law to see family who live in dorchester.what a find !! Alison and Hilary were so very welcoming the garden room was excellent and spotless as well as comfortable.and the breakfast wow five star !!!!we will recommend you to family and friends thank you for having us 

I don’t usually leave reviews for hotels and guest houses unless they’re really bad or excellent as I stay at so many places with work. But from cake and tea on arrival, the friendly hosts imaginable. To a superb breakfast. Spacious room. Was made feel welcome from moment I checked in. With the added bonus of a jar of home made whisky marmalade to take home with me. Well worth staying at if your in the area!

The owner was very attentive and careful about us having our own bubble. Great breakfast.

What a find !

Fantastic and friendly

Myself, wife and 13 year old son stayed for two nights in June ‘22. On arrival we were treated to a warm welcome with tea and home made cake which is a rare thing these days. On asking, Alison gave us great advice on local eateries which we thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed.
The room was spotless and all facilities including the beds to a very high standard.
Breakfast was super with home made smoothies and fruit to complement the traditional full English, and delivered at the times we asked with delicious home made marmalade to bring home.
Lastly there was a lovely garden to sit and chill in after a busy day enjoying Tankfest. 
Highly recommended and we shall return next year. Dorchester is a very nice town too!

Lovely Welcoming Establishment.

The garden suite was lovely, had use of the garden to sit in. Very clean, comfortable with nice size double bedroom & living room with sofa bed & TV with Netflix etc. WiFi very good. We had our first breakfast served to us in the garden as the weather was beautiful. Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit platter, cereal, cooked breakfast choices & toast. Our hosts were very friendly, helpful& made our stay a very happy one. A true home from home.The one thing to be aware of is that the shower cubicle opens into the bedroom & the toilet & hand basin are separate but wasn't a huge problem for us.One thing to note Hotel.com.site said towels & bedding were not included this is not correct both were included. Maybe Hotels.com could alter this on their site.

A lovely stay in the garden suite at Bramilies.

Nicely maintained property, clean and tidy. You have all the amenities that you need. Nice backyard with tables and chairs where you can have your morning breakfast on a sunny day.Alison is a great host. We were new to the city, exploring things. Her mother and she gave us good guidances about the places to visit nearby. We just followed their advice and had a great experience. Got some time to play with cute cats - Laurel and Hardy.Her mother has great memory, we learnt many things about the area's history just by talking to her.Alison was a kind and friendly host. She made us delicious and sumptuous breakfast everyday. I'd definitely stay there again.
