What a fabulous place ! The staff were exceptional they could not do enough for you . The food was delicious . The hotel was a lovely size not too big so even if there were only a few people there you could find a cosy corner . The bedroom was comfortable with a good bathroom and pristine clean . Thank you to all of the staff xx

Wonderful stay 

My friend and I spent 3 nights at Thorns Hall  and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the Hall was very relaxing.
We met some lovely people and walked mainly locally which was beautiful.
The guides were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and the grade of walks. I would particularly like to thank Gareth for his help and great sense of humour.
The staff were helpful and genuinely friendly towards us and worked tirelessly to make our stay special.. thank you . The food was very good and especially the roast beef yummy 😋. Thank you to all the staff.

Wonderful

We just spent another HF walking week at Thorns Hall. Only good things to say about Nicole and her lovely helpful staff. Excellent meals, lovely room. Plenty of pleasant communal spaces to relax in.
The HF leaders, Michael, Caroline and Margaret, were all lovely, patient and helpful.
Even the weather was perfect!
Highly recommended!

Great stay with HF, as expected.  This is a lovely old hall, full of charm with all mod cons.  Rooms are large and comfortable, lots of hot water, slippers, dressing gowns etc.  Dining room, lounge & bar all great spaces to spend time with friends.  Food was excellent, staff lovely and very efficient.

Great area to walk, although road closures temporarily caused some restrictions.

Can’t guarantee good weather but we were lucky.

Walking 

Fabulous hotel to stay at if you enjoy walking!  Good food, lovely staff.  Countryside at hand.  Group stays.  Guided or self Guided walking groups.  Other activities catered for.  Maps and information at hand.

Great hotel!

My room was so spacious (Room 5) and had lovely views over the front gardens.
The manager (David Newton) and his team were really on the ball.
Our group were looked after and we all had a fun, comfortable and memorable stay.

Wonderful setting and extremely comfortable hotel.  Staff were first class.

Stayed here with our club & could not have been made more welcome.
Did 3 days of great walking although quite a way in a coach from the hotel.
Weather was great which must have helped.
Definitely not the place for people with walking difficulties due to the cobbled courtyard.
Wifi worked in my room but not in others, worked in the public rooms however.
