Stayed autumn/winter 2022. 

Not round the corner from train station but manageable straight-path walk even with luggage (no cobblestone street or stairs). 
SIngle room, ensuite on 2nd floor, facing back of house.
Clean and comfortable. 
TV, Fan, kettle etc.
Breakfast was delicious and hearty. 
Very friendly and helpful family managing it. 

Pleasant and homely

We love it here. Very welcoming and very clean and well presented. We was in shock to see how stunning the place was. This is now our regular place to visit. The rooms are stunning. Very comfortable and warm. 

Amazing 🤩 

Just arrived home after a couple of days at Abbey Court and can't fault this excellent B&B. Room 10 was spacious and comfortable with a large screen tv and lovely en suite bathroom. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming along with their staff. Breakfast was great as well. My wife and myself enjoyed our time here and would certainly return

Thoroughly recommend 

We stayed here as part of our Hadrians wall walk. It was a bit off the Day 2 trail start but the location otherwise was great. Super friendly hosts with lots of local knowledge to share.  Clean accomodations with an amazing breakfast.

Outstanding value at this place- lovely clean room- not huge but fine for me- delicious breakfast too. Just can’t fault it. I was in room 9. Shower looked new and worked perfectly . Friendly welcome on arrival. Paid £61 for a single room on a Tuesday night. Would happily return.

Outstanding value

I only stayed the one evening while travelling for business. This is a stunning guest house with lots of attention to detail. I arrived with a painful back and was promptly given ibuprofen gel and a hot water bottle 🥰 The room is spotless, has all the amenities expected as well as a mini fridge. 

I had the best night's sleep in a very long time and came downstairs to a stunning breakfast served at the requested time in a beautiful room. You can tell this is a place run with passion and dedication.

I was only passing through Carlisle, I now have a reason to return and stay for longer.

Best nights sleep 

I wanted to stay in Carlisle for a few nights. I looked at all of the chain hotels and the reviews said they were in need of renovation. So I decided to try a smaller B&B. I was very happy with Abbey Court. My single room was compact but in very good condition. The breakfast was great. Overall I was very happy.

Deserves the good reviews

One of the best guest/hotel/B&B and even "Boutique" Guest houses I've stayed in.  I think they bought this business only about 6 years ago and during lockdown, they took advantage to completely revamp the hotel because of that its spotless. 

 I will also say that the overall decor/feel of the place is classy as well. I was able to have a peek in the room next to mine and also the "family room" which is on the ground floor and has so much space and I suspect it's probably wheelchair/mobility friendly.

In your room you have a mini fridge, bottled water, tea coffee even a fan.  The TV works well and FREE internet. 

Everything seems to have been thought of, under the staircase is a microwave, cups, books, games and even a much-needed umbrella.  

I had a simple breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs, the bacon was thick-cut and delicious. I will say looking at the full English I was tempted but in the end, I wanted a lighter meal.

There is a lovely outside area as well which is at this moment being redone so hopefully by the new year or when it's decent enough to sit outside it will be ready.  This just like indoors will probably be a lovely place to finish the end of your day instead of being stuck in your bedroom.

Again best place I've stayed in and as for prices..a bargain! I did ask the owner if they'd thought about marketing their place as a "Boutique" which normally pushes up the price but she said she likes to keep it more affordable and therefore a good occupancy. I will say that if I was to ever head back to Carlise I wouldn't even look anywhere else.

As for location it can't be beat.

What a gorgeous place the Abbey Court Guest House is. Tastefully decorated throughout. Lots of original features. Immaculately clean and yet very cosy. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and very tasty indeed. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. She spent time chatting with us about her gorgeous B&B. We’d definitely return here.

Perfect B&B

First class as usual. Great comfy bed with good shower. Breakfast is of a really good standard. Host is friendly and super professional and takes great pride in her establishment. A 10minute walk from city centre and restaurants. Parking also available on site
