Wonderful room, I've stayed here 3 time before, the carvery is amazing & great value for money.

The staff were very friendly. The food was excellant. Our family room was very spacious. Good parking

We have been to the Down Inn three times now and it is a first rate hotel.  Lovely big bedroom with spacious bathroom both scrupulously clean. Well-stocked beverages and biscuits. Excellent food including a regular carvery with a good choice of vegetables and some really interesting  specials.  Good variety of breakfast choices.  Staff were all friendly and helpful.  All this at a reasonable price.

Would definitely stay at the Down Inn again. Excellent food, comfortable rooms, friendly engaging staff. Parking is great.

Really great place to stay

This is a lovely country pub with friendly staff and we had a lovely spacious room. We were going to wedding so didn’t eat there in the evening although the food looked great. 

The absolute jewel in the crown was the magnificent breakfast. Cereals, fruit yogurt etc and then a cooked breakfast made to order. All included in the room price which was excellent value.

Stayed for a friend's borthday party.Had a carbery which was very good.Evening meal quite tasteless.Breakfast fine.Bedroom and bathroom were nice and clean.Bedroom'bathroom and corridor floors were creaking terribly and noise from the ground floor could be heard until quite late.Would stay there again if i was in the area.

Clean and comfortable bedroom

The room was spacious , clean and well presented , and food was lovely in morning and evening s too , the only slight complaint was the hot water seemed to run out on one occasion after we all had showers , which was a bit frustrating , but am sure that can be rectified , other than that it was lovely !

The down

As we were at a wedding the following day we decided to find somewhere close overnight, this place had good ratings so decided to give it a try - so glad we did.

Lovely friendly staff, the lady at breakfast deserves a special mention as she was so lovely and helpful but all the staff we met were friendly. 

The breakfast was amazing, freshly cooked and tasty ingredients I had the bacon eggs Benedict and hubby had the full breakfast- large portions he couldn’t even manage it all but very tasty.

The room was spacious and clean, mattress & pillows etc very comfy. Plenty of car parking too.

I can definitely recommend and if we need to revisit the area this will be our go to place. 

A hidden gem

Wow is all we can say. We stayed for one night and had a fabulous time. From the moment we got there until we left we couldn’t fault it. The staff were fantastic and when we weren’t sure as to which bottle of wine we wanted with dinner the lovely barmaid asked if we would like to try a little taste. What a nice suggestion. The food was amazing. Hubby had 10oz sirloin and I had the crispy pork in an amazing sauce. You will not go far wrong if you order this. The pork was very soft and succulent and the topping was as crispy as anything I have ever tasted. Both meals were amazing and the starters were amazing. I had the mushrooms and hubby had the prawns which we split between the 2 of us. The room was really lovely, extremely roomy with lots of wardrobe and drawer space. You have got to pay a visit to this place, whether it’s just for a meal (oh and forgot to say about their carvery) one of the best we have ever been to. Don’t take our word for it but we will definitely be back again and again. Please give it a try as you certainly won’t regret it.

Terrific restaurant with rooms

Stayed at the Down Inn while visiting the Bridgnorth area. Overall very happy with our stay. The room was large and in good condition. Breakfast was brilliant. Enjoyed a couple of evening meals also. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Down Inn will definitely be on the list if we visit the area again.

Just had a Christmas Lunch for 87 passengers it was first class from the time we arrived till the time we left, Steve & Nicky and your team were brilliant the food was perfect so much piping hot so much choice,& the entertainment by Paul Birch just made the afternoon I will definatley be booking again 100% satified customer

We stopped at this hotel for one night. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, warm and everything we could wish for. Crisp white bed linen. Large white fluffy towels. Good quality toiletries. The food in the restaurant in the evening was well cooked and wholesome. There was plenty of choice for breakfast including kippers. There was a party in the hotel that night, but we weren't disturbed by it. 
Will definitely return when in the area.

Great hotel

We stayed at the Down Inn for two nights en route to a holiday in Yorkshire. We traveled from Cornwall so wanted to break the journey into stages . When we arrived at the Inn we were greeted by the owner / manager who showed us to our room . The room was large , comfortable, nicely furnished and very clean . We had dinner here on the first night which was good and served by friendly efficient staff . A restful sleep in the comfortable bed then breakfast in the morning. This breakfast was superb . Delicious ingredients and beautifully cooked . Excellent. We also had dinner on the second night ( Sunday ) the Down inn do not offer their a la carte menu on Sundays as they do a carvery . It is also very good with a selection of roast meats and a variety of vegetables. The inn seemed to be super busy from lunchtime until evening , serving what must have been hundreds of diners , non residents as well as residents. It is clearly a very popular place to eat in the area which is a compliment to their team . So many pubs all over the country are failing at present due possibly to a number of factors. The down inn are obviously using the right formula . Great welcome , good accommodation and delicious food . I hope they continue to thrive and we shall certainly recommend them and hopefully return when we are in the area
