Fabulous location for a start. 
The hostess went above and beyond to accommodate our party, even wearing the masks we’d brought to celebrate the birthday boy and arranging decorations in the room. 
Rooms were lovely and sparkling clean, breakfast was delicious, all in all a fabulous little gem. 
We will be back for sure .

Favourite place to stay & eat in Bowness!
Checked in on a Saturday and stayed until Monday. Had a lovely room for 2 nights and breakfast included on both mornings. Literally cannot complain at all, everything was 10/10.
Anca was amazing at communicating with us from the get go, we booked through booking.com and Anca sent us a message to welcome herself and throughout the whole process responded within the hour if we needed anything or required answers about things. We arrived late Saturday night and the check in process was so straight forward, we were given the key code during the day and got our key easily. We stayed in room 4 on the top floor and it was just perfect, clean, cosy, decorated well and the bed was INCREDIBLE - probably the most comfortable bed we've stayed in when staying away. The tv was huge and had Netflix which was cool. They left rose petals on our bed which was such a lovely touch, as well as a fan, kettle, tea & coffee, comfy chairs etc. Such a perfect little room for us!

Ps. Parking is a bit of a pain but this isn't Monties fault, it's just bowness in general. My auntie lives up the road so we were able to park there. There are many roads further up that you could probably park on as long as you don't park outside someone's house, not to mention the fact you can get a train.
There is lots of noise coming from the main road that you can hear from the bedroom but this is of course going to be the case with it being so central so something you can't really complain about or blame Monties for. We were woken a couple of times by noise but were fine once we shut the windows and we knew this was going to be the case anyway so it didn't bother us at all - just something to be mindful of 😊 

The cafe is always nice and somewhere we've been plenty of times for breakfast, the first morning we had a fry up (forgot to get a picture sorry) and the last morning I had poached eggs on toast with added hashbrowns, so delicious, and the cappuccino I had both days was so good - a proper coffee! The breakfast menu for guests has more than enough choice and lots of delicious options.The staff are all so lovely, really welcoming and accommodating.
Will absolutely 100% be staying when we next visit bowness - thank you so much Anca & team ❤️

Beautiful and clean accommodation, host Ankor made us very welcome . Full English Breakfast superb definitely give it a try .  Location right in centre. Will be returning and recommending this.

Lovely guest house right in the Centre of Bowness. Very welcoming easygoing owners, lovely clean rooms with a great cafe underneath. Excellent value for money.  Couldn’t fault it at all. I will certainly be returning.

We have just returned from a three night stay in this wonderful place ,Anca who met us was fantastic nothing was too much trouble she was very friendly and welcoming
Our room was on the top floor facing the street ,it was very clean and tidy and plenty of room with a large tv at high level the bathroom was great very clean and spacious with a lovely shower we had no problems with water pressure or anything like that. there is also a fan if required .we loved the fact that we got our room key and you can then just look after yourself and get on with your vacation and come and go as you pleaseThe location of the property couldn't be any better you are right in the middle of Bowness with cafes bars restaurants shops and the lake only 2 mins walk away
The breakfast which was gorgeous by the way  was cooked very well with local  produce used and sets you up nicely for the rest of the day .
Anca and all the staff were brilliant polite and very friendly and always asked us if we needed anything for the room ,we were very pleased that we found this little gem of a place .there is no parking but the car park 2mins away is £17 for three days which was very reasonable and very safe .

Visited again 10th August. Enjoy the set up here. Rooms aren’t luxury but are good. We like that you get your keys and are left to yourself. The breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs which is a great people watching position. Have stayed here about five or six times over a number of years. We’ve stayed at ThevMcDonald,Belsfield, Burnside and many of the other guest houses and still tend to opt for here where possible. For value for money we don’t think you can beat it. The location is right in the heart of Bowness, feet away from bars and restaurants and a short stroll to the lake.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this guesthouse. Travelled from Bruges and was slightly delayed upon check-in. No issue at all. We were immediately made to feel at home. Room was fab and had a big beautiful bay window which looked out onto the Main Street. 
Breakfast every morning was cooked to perfection and never rushed. Location was spot on. Right next to three pubs which was a bonus and a 30 second walk from the town of Bowness.

Excellent location but a bit noisy. The bedroom was completely comfortable, clean and breakfast excellent! People very kind and always eager to help. It has paying parking round the corner. This area doesn't have free parking. Plenty of things to do. 

Room 7 clean and spacious. Staff friendly.  Breakfast tasty and staff were accomodating regarding choices not listed on the standard menu. Didn't find the room noisy as previously mentioned in other reviews. 

Negatives - toilet seat needs tightening
shower tad small. If portly may be a struggle. Plug socket loose by bed and no USB outlets.

Would definately visit again.

Best location in Bowness. Lovley staff. Beautiful room. Good breakfast. Bit loud at night with party goers walking past. I will stay again. Lovely.

Another great stay at Monties

We booked an overnight stay at short notice, and, for our budget, had a choice of Monties or the Stags Head, we opted for Monties due to its apparent central location and its nearby parking facility. 
Yes, its as central as you can get. 
We arrived early morning found the car park (£7 a day, or £16 for 3 days) within 2/3 minutes’ walk, and staked our place as it started getting busy.
We spent a good day in Bowness with the boat trips from the piers within 5 minutes’ walk, and the open top buses to nearby Ambleside etc likewise there is plenty to do. After a 45 min boat trip, we spotted the Stags Head, and out of curiosity we had a light lunch there, sat out in the sunshine in the pedestrianised street – it was lovely.
Monties accommodation is above the local café Bar (which surprisingly wasn’t open on a busy Sunday), but we rang the number given & obtained the key from the key-safe, and the room was great. Large room, beautifully clean. Ample linen. Power shower in large bathroom. 
So after a quick change we enjoyed evening meals in the Albert pub next door. They serve a full menu (good portions), plus a Sunday Roast. In addition, they have huge outside seating & dining areas, which are also heated in the evenings.
Sounds perfect?
Yes it was – until a couple of little spoilers.
Until then everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE we had been – Boat Trip, Stags Head, Monties, The Albert, shops had been avidly Covid Compliant – but when we called in at The Flying Pig pub they didn’t take our names (they relied on people to scan barcodes on walls), and they were selective about who they let in/turned away after they had called time at 10pm.
As Monties was so central, the road outside (particularly around teatime) turned into a race track, and after we had gone to bed we were woken around midnight with a large group of youths bickering in the street outside. As Monties in not double glazed we could hear every passing sound. We live on a main road at home so I am used to traffic & people passing, but at one point I was beginning to wish we had booked the quieter pedestrianised Stags Head.
However Monties redeemed themselves the morning after when the café reopened, and a wonderful hearty breakfast was served (anything from scrambled eggs, to a full brekkie).
They have facility to leave luggage for a few hours once you vacate your room.
We spent the morning going by open top bus from the lakeside to Ambleside village (15-30 mins depending on traffic) – it has a auto-commentary on board, and lovely scenery.

Good Clean Accomodation.  Central Location....

Monties is perfectly situated in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere, the room was clean and a very good size. Unfortunately there is no parking onsite but a public one is near by. It’s a shame you have to buy a 3 day pass instead by the  24 hours at &15 but that’s not Monties fault. The breakfast was hot and fresh with nice juices. Will definitely be back.
