We had my mother’s Wake at the Elmer, and we had the restaurant area to ourselves. I have to say the staff were superb, very friendly and tentative on the day. I cannot fault them. The buffet was also very good and just what we needed. I would definitely recommend.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good food, very reasonable prices. Clearly a popular place, but not crowded nor noisy. Good facilities. All-round excellent. Wi-fi was a bit iffy, but acceptable; could be improved, I think. Will definitely stay again, when next in the area.

Just been here for a Mother's Day lunch. It was heaving but the service was totally on point, the food was delicious and hot and there was no feeling of urgency, very relaxed and in spite of how busy it was the wait for each course was spot on. 
Been quite a few times for lunches and it never fails to be very welcoming and they make you feel special as if you re the only one they're are serving.

Went to The Elmer for Burns night. The 4 course meal was excellent, couldn't fault any part of it. The staff were great and and so was the atmosphere. They even had an actor dressed up as a fierce Scotsman, great fun. Looking forward to the next theme night

Really lovely Christmas meal. Desserts were a highlight.  Really welcoming atmosphere and our waitress was brilliant, so kind and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. Would really recommend this pub.

From the moment we arrived for our one night stay my daughter and I were made to feel very welcome. Every member of staff we encountered over the course of our stay was helpful and friendly. The dining room was busy with a private party and lots of other customers but we didn’t have to wait overly long for our meals.  They were tasty and excellent value -  the junior portion was a good size . Comfy room and heard no noise from the pub below. Breakfast was another hearty meal with smiley staff. Would definitely stay here again.  We enjoyed our evening and morning paddles on the nearby beach which has plenty of sand at low tide.

My friend booked this as we was doing a gig in Bognor over the Bank Holiday. After a long drive we arrived and checked in, the staff member was friendly and polite, we got shown to our room and boy was we suprised. Really nicely decorated with a modern on suite, dont get me wrong its not the Ritz but I was very pleased with the room. The breakfast was also amazing and all the staff were very helpful (they reckon we wouldnt be down for breakfast as we would be out to the early hours of the morning lol, just to say we love food lol).

We had a brilliant stay at The Elmer! The staff were so warm and hospitable and consistently went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. The food was great and The Elmer made sure to provide vegetarian and gluten-free options at every meal. The rooms were lovely and the location, right by the sea, is perfect for getting to the beach. We would definitely recommend The Elmer to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

We were happily recommended this pub by the air BnB cottage we were staying at. Really impressed with the place. Felt instantly welcomed with our baby and German shepherd, staff were very on it making sure we weren't ignored when we came in. 
The food was very prompt and absolutely delicious, proper hearty courses, crab salad was beautiful and very filling and great they did proper pie it bugs me when pubs put pies in individual dishes. I especially liked the Pina colada Panna cotta very different the flavours worked very well 
Lovely staff, checked back on all 3 courses, would have happily gone there every day to try the variety things on menu but unfortunately didn't have the time on short trip

We stayed at The Elmer for two nights and would highly recommend it - and would love to return in the future.
We arrived on a very wet Friday and went for a lovely walk along the coast to Bognor Regis - even in the rain, it was still lovely to walk by the sea!  The walk took about an hour.  After a look around Bognor and a much-needed coffee stop, we walked back to The Elmer, by which time we were ready to eat but hadn't thought to book a table.
The pub was really busy - there was an engagement party in one section and the rest of the pub was booked too.  The staff couldn't have been friendlier, literally getting a table from somewhere and slotting it in so we could get something to eat!
The menu was very good and we both enjoyed our dinner.
After a good night's sleep we went downstairs for breakfast.  We were greeted really warmly and offered tea/coffee and told to help ourselves to cereal and juice and were then asked for our cooked order.  There isn't a menu but you can order anything that's traditionally on a full English, which is freshly cooked to order, along with toast.
We were going to be out for the day and said we didn't know what time we'd be back to eat that evening.  Again, the friendly staff said 'no problem, we'll reserve a table for you and it's there whenever you want it'.  They also mentioned that there would be a charity race night going on so apologies that the pub would be both busy and noisy!  
The menu on the Saturday night was completely different to the night before and we had another very nice meal - and really enjoyed the race night, which we were very happy to support. 
One more breakfast and it was time for us to go home - hopefully to return sometime in the future. 
Our bedroom was very comfortable with everything you need for a short stay - it had an en-suite shower room.
Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful and clearly knew everybody in the pub as it had a really lovely community atmosphere.

Friendly staff good value hearty food

A great place to stay :)

We went for dinner. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts all reasonably priced. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was well cooked and presented. The portions were generous and joy of joys, the food was served on warm plates. In summary, good home cooked food in a relaxed atmosphere. Overall a pleasant experience which no doubt will be repeated in the near future. Thank you to all concerned.

We had an evening meal last Thursday, 4 in the party with one in a wheelchair.
We received a warm welcome and given a choice of tables to ensure that we were comfortable. 
The menu is not extensive but it covers a good range of food so that everyone could find something that they were happy with and it was all served in a timely manner and was well cooked and presented. 
We have dined here before and we have never been disappointed with the range and quality of the food which changes to match the seasons.
The Elmer is a local pub and is well supported by the local community, the restaurant is in a separate area to the bars but because it is a popular establishment it is best to book ahead to reserve a table though on the night is often possible.

Evening meal

Attended an evening function at the pub and we stayed overnight at the same location. Parking was available at no extra charge.  

The room was clean and tidy with tea/ coffee, bathroom essentials and large clean towels provided. 

An evening buffet was plentiful and tasty which was very welcome. Full range of drinks at the bar.  

The full English breakfast was superb, fresh and wholesome.  We had a walk along the beach afterwards which you can reach via the lane opposite. 

All staff we met were very friendly and jovial which was great.  

Would definitely visit again.

We have eaten at this establishment on numerous occasions  and have always found the food to be of good quality, ample portions and good value, in pleasant surroundings with friendly and efficient service.  The menu caters for all tastes and all food appears to be freshly  prepared. The Sunday roast is also very good truly English fayre.  Overnight accommodation is available, but be sure to book well in advance. The beach is within 3 minutes walk. Strongly recommended .
