The Mill House

Various family members stayed at the  Mill House for a family wedding - it was wonderful. Michael the owner was so patient with changing around bookings, breakfasts delicious, rooms peaceful, very accommodating with our times. Such a lovely place, thank you.

We were welcomed by Mike, a very friendly host who showed us the house and grounds which were stunning... the local pub for dinner is also recommended.our breakfast was beautifully done and  Mike was very attentive to our needs.
We would highly recommend this delightful b&b .. thankyou Mike for a lovely weekend..

Beautiful house and gardens. The owner, Michael, made us feel very welcome in his family home. The room was amazing with views over the garden and the bird life was very varied. The village is quiet with very little traffic and so an undisturbed night's sleep is guaranteed.
There are 4 bedrooms. We stayed 3 nights and found we were not disturbed by any other guests. Michael did all the work himself both inside and outside. 
Breakfast was a mixture of cereal. fruit, full English, toast and tea/coffee. We were welcome to come and go as we pleased throughout the day. 
We would definitely stay here again

Well Today i have been a busy boy and although i wanted to get home thought it best to stop over, this was following driving the wrong way down a one way street, I had already warned wife i wouldn’t be home as the jobs were taking longer than normal.
Anyways that’s not the purpose of the post, the only accommodation available at a reasonable cost was an hour and a bit away and on my way home, By reasonable cost i mean less than £200! for one night, so i Checked into a B&B (£85), normally i do not do B&B but I was not paying Minimum £150(premier inn who i hate or Britannia Hate more) or £200+ for a "nice hotel".
So I ended up at the below link, The Mill House Berwick Saint James, The host is what we all call eccentric and a really nice gentleman, in fact Old School Gent. So far a perfect host and after looking at reviews I am seriously looking forward to breakfast. the grounds are lovely, the area perfect and the room very clean. Would i stay again hell yeh!!!! not often i recommend a place but "if" you love the countryside or need a place near Salisbury (its 20min's ish from Salisbury racecourse) then forget the big hotels come and stay at Michaels place The Mill house Berwick Saint James. (And no i am not being paid to write this!)

We wished we could have stayed here longer!  What a lovely old B&B and Michael was the ultimate host. Our room overlooked the back garden with huge windows and a very comfy bed.  The furnishings were so tasteful with fresh roses on the desk.The weather was overcast but we imagined ourselves here on a warm sunny day just sitting in the garden reading and doing nothing!!
Michael booked a table for us down the road (we walked along the river path)at the Boot Inn. More on that delicious dinner!
The next morning Michael cooked our eggs to order perfectly!!  Delicious breakfast and coffee with fresh fruit, toast etc.  If you are in this area do stay here, you will love it!
