Nice clean and well equipped lodge.  Hot tub was excellent.  Lovely quiet site. If you're after peace and relaxation then this is ideal.  If you like larger sites with entertainment, bars and games then this is not for you.

We really enjoyed our stay here as a family.  The lodge was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.  The only negative was that the check out time was so early (09:00).  It would be nice if it was later as packing up a family of 5 takes a while!

We would happily book again.

Exactly what was needed. Peace,  tranquility and privacy. Comfortable lodge,  clean,  hot tub was perfect. Listening to the sounds of nature all around. Walks are nearby and despite being 'off the beaten track', the place is very accessible and easy to get to visit places if needed. There is no shop onsite (Bude isn't far) nor WiFi, neither of which bothered us - this place is about switching off, getting back to nature and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful week away we visited for our honeymoon its so peaceful here yes its in the middle of no where but we were aware of  this when we booked from researching,it could do with a little shop on site bit that's just my opion,you can also get DVD to borrow from the reception,hot tubs are well maintained,we stayed at Lodge 37 which was lovely apart from the on suite shower the shower screen broke but the reception were great came straight way and told us its a long standing problem with that shower and they are waiting for the owners of the lodge to replace it apart from that the lodge was cleaned well equipped could of done with a bit of paint outside and decking but we are just coming out of a pandemic so it is understandable,at night we could hear the owls that visited the site,if you want peace and quite this is the place to come we didn't mind driving every where in a beautiful part of the country,we will dwf be coming back next year for another relaxing break.

Stayed in a Tamar Lodge, everything was spotlessly clean, could not of wanted for anything  very much home from home. The hot tub was amazing, perfect way to unwind  and relax after visiting many attractions within an hour of the lodges.  The o ly gripe  is lack of wifi. If you want a totally relaxing and get away from it all holiday then visit these lodges.

We stayed in a Tamar Lodge, number 27. The park itself is idyllic-so quiet and peaceful. 

Our lodge was at the end and felt really private. There are quite a few empty concrete slots for other lodges, I think if those were taken it might not feel as spacious. 

Overall if you are looking for a break from the city this is perfect. The hot tub is huge, really hot and just lovely. The lady comes each day to check it and maintain. 

When we arrived our lodge was absolutely spotless. I’m really fussy and usually wash everything in the kitchen down. But I didn’t need to do anything. Every single thing in the kitchen was sparkling clean. Every part of the lodge was smudge and dust free - well done to the cleaners! 

The lodge is very well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. There are nice quality carpets in the lounge, hall and bedrooms…very homely. A decent SMEG fridge and a quality kitchen. Decent pots and pans, nice wine glasses and even plates etc for the kids. 

The only thing I thought the lodge lacked was a bit of personal touch - the sofas are ok, but perhaps a few new cushions would have given it more of that Luxury feel. 

 The curtains are really nice throughout, but let down by cheap metal blinds - hard to put down and one set is broken on the main patio doors looking out so you can’t pull up. 

The decking furniture is not great at all and we didn’t have an outside umbrella for shade.  It’s a shame as the more could be done (with minimal investment) to make such a nice decking area feel fabulous. 

Overall though, lovely place and would definitely visit again.

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Ruby Country Lodges. We stayed in the Tamar Lodge, it was lovely! Fully fitted kitchen, lounge, dining area, 2 bedrooms, 1 with an en-suite and a large separate bathroom (jacuzzi bath!). We were also pleasantly surprised we also had a sauna in our lodge - amazing! The hot tub is perfect, it’s secluded enough to be private which was great. 
We used the lodge as a base camp and travelled to Cornwall on one day and to a local lake on the other. We also visited The Bickford Arms pub for a Sunday roast, it was very good value for money at only £8.95. We also had a fish and chips takeaway from Karen’s Kitchen, also good value for money. 
You will need to have use of a car to travel around here, as there isn’t anything in walking distance.
There is no WiFi in the lodge, however our 3G worked fine and we are on o2.
Fully recommend staying here for a long weekend, we absolutely will return. 

Just returned from Ruby lodges, fantastic week.
We arrived approximately 1 hour before check and was still allowed in our lodge, the lodge was very spacious and clean.
The hot tub was amazing, spent every evening in there.
The lodges are in a remote area therefore a car is definitely needed, there is a pub and a takeaway in the village of Halwill both served great food. Other options were a pub in Holsworthy or other takeaways in Okehampton which is about a 10 minute drive, also 3 supermarket there too.
I have nothing but praise for this holiday it was a great staycation given the current climate we are in.
Would definitely stay here again.

If you want a relaxing week of peace and tranquility Ruby country lodge park is the place to go.
The park has nothing but the 20 or so lodges that occupy the grounds surrounded by forest.
The lodge we had was spacious and comfortable with all mod cons including a lovely hot tub, sauna, jacuzzi bath and most kitchen white goods.
Halwill Junction is a couple of miles away with a small village store, takeaway and good pub but unless you are a very keen walker you will need a car to get about.
On a final note I would like to say a word of praise about the couple of guys who keep the place ticking,they never stop parading the park making sure everything is OK.

As our holiday to France had been cancelled due to the pandemic, we booked a week at Ruby Country Lodges. The park is in the middle of nowhere and is surrounded by beautiful countryside meaning it is a peaceful and tranquil location. Usually we would book somewhere within walking distance of a village or beach but decided we wanted to be somewhere more remote due to the pandemic. A car is essential here if you wish to get out and about and most places of interest are around a one hour’s drive away. We travelled to Woolacombe, Fowey, Bude and Crackington Haven to swim and do coastal walks. However, the lodge was comfortable, spacious and well equipped-a real home from home- and had everything you needed for a chilled out and relaxing stay should you wish not to venture too far. We stayed at lodge 40 which came with two terraces-one with a hot tub. The lodges are spaced out which offers peace and privacy. We loved it here and my only grumble is that we didn’t book for longer than a week.

Excellent location for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There is no wifi available in the lodges however if you needed it, you can access it at the Reception. 

The lodge we stayed in (number 40) was immaculate and was complete with all the essentials you would need for a comfortable stay. (Photos also added). The lodge also came complete with a hot tub, which we made the most of everyday.

From checking in the staff were very friendly and informative of directing us to the local supermarkets so we were able to pick up some supplies. As in previous reviews the site is in a rural location so walking to the nearest village would not be an option as the roads are very narrow and don't have a path. But if you drive it isn't a problem. 

Most days, we ventured out to explore other places. Here are just a sample of places we went to for some ideas if you are struggling.

Bude - 30 mins drive. Nice little town, shops, pubs, cafes and a beach.
Tavistock - 30- 40 mins drive - Lovely town, shops, pubs, cafes and a lovely river walk to a local children's park.
Okehampton - 30 mins drive - A town, not many shops and a castle (in ruins).
Newquay - 60 mins drive - Busy lively  town, cafes, pubs, restaurants, surfing beaches.

it was our first time going away from home for a bank holiday weekend and our first experience of a hot tub lodge. This is a getaway from it all resort, in the middle of nowhere, which was perfect for us.  It was the best antidote to a year of shielding during the lockdown. Everything was lovely and clean, fresh fluffy white towels everywhere.
We stayed in lodge 16 and I would say it has a lovely homely feel. The sun was on the hot tub from early morning until mid-afternoon. Inside there was a large shelf of books and DVDs, which was excellent as I forgot to bring a book. The children enjoyed lots of the DVDS especially Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There was a box with some games in it, we enjoyed playing Happy Families card game. I had packed Monopoly and Uno flip from home but we didn't get round to playing them. I wrote a scavenger list for the children, pine cones, daisies, 3 leaf clover, feather etc and that kept them entertained exploring. 
The staff were wonderfully attentive but also hugely respectful of our privacy. If you text them, they will come ASAP and were very helpful. 
It was a lovely surprise that the main bathroom had a jacuzzi bathtub as well. I really enjoyed this on the first night to unwind.
I was glad I had the foresight to pack a hand soap, there was not any in the bathrooms. I took antibacterial surface spray for the kitchen too. I think I could have done with taking an extra toilet roll from home but only because we have small children with no discretion for minimal usage. The kitchen facilities were excellent, lots of very useful utensils. I was kicking myself for forgetting sugar, salt and pepper but we managed. I bought acrylic picnic glasses from use outdoors and near the hot tub, so we could enjoy a glass of bubbly.
The lodge was really nice and warm, I hate feeling cold and so it was really important to me to have control of the heating. I also needed to keep the children warm and dry after using the hot tub.
I am not sure what it is, maybe the electricity generator but there is a constant hum. The fridge also did a humming noise when it cooled down, it was a good excuse for me to tell the children not to open it.
It was lovely to be able to support a local and small business. 
I would definitely visit here again, so will be on the lookout for future last-minute deals.
