Great value rooms. Clean, tidy and front-of-house staff were very helpful. During national credit card system crash, the team helped customers deal with the trials of not being able to use their credit cards. GILL and ANT at Reception sorted out our dining options for us at the Table Table Restaurant next door. JAMES, the restaurant manager was happy to support our plight of not being able to pay until the system came back on-line.  And we had a great meal at an excellent price.
The staff have to be commended for dealing with a difficult national situation in a very professional and friendly manner. Well done, folks!!

Stayed here for 4 nights over New Years Eve, as I'm a Forensic Custody Nurse for Devon and Cornwall Police and all the staff couldn't have been more friendly, helpful chatty folk. Kitchen personal too

Great breakfast and tasty fish and chips 

I had requested a quiet room as I was on nights which meant sleeping thru the day 

Despite travelling all over the UK in these hotels I've never been given a room esp for people in my work predicament 

These rooms were partitioned off, albeit by a fire day, but the signage was clear and never heard a thing 

They even let me sleep in on my check out day. How nice was that

Very friendly as always,very nice to talk to and nothing was too much trouble.Ben on reception was very helpful and friendly and helped me with the Wi Fi.You always receive a warm smile when you arrive,which makes the long journey worth it.housekeeping ladies very friendly too.would receommend this Premier Inn to anyone.Room very clean and cosy and welcoming,liked the new shower gel.

Went to the hotel for dinner with my wife, her sister and our 11 year old daughter. We had an enjoyable night all thanks to the A1 service we got from Gaynor A! She served us very well and made sure that we had everything that we needed! We shall definitely be going back to the place.....! 

Business or pleasure, accessibility and ease of transfers, value for money, perfect for all. This place is one of the best premier inns I’ve ever been to, for all it provides and what you require. Well done guys

First came in felt welcomed had a great chat to workers and then entered the room to a extra wow for my partner everything was perfect apart from the food wait definitely recommend going again and others to get the same experience thank you premier inn workers you done more then expected and deserve the gratitude 

Staff were polite, welcoming and professional. All was great, temperature of the room was a bit warm, a fan was provided but air con would be better. Booking in and booking breakfast and dinner was effortless.

We stopped in this hotel on a way to Cornwall. On arrival were greeted by couple receptionists, one of them was hotels manager Michaela, she was very nice and helpful even i was checking in during their handover and paying cash which is always more complicated then just card. In the morning she was working again, we didn't have booking for breakfast but she went to restaurant and managed to squeeze us in.  On check out I saw her running around helping house keepers,  its so nice to see that managers help their team too. It was a lovely stay in hotel and good food in restaurant next door. Thank you.

Stayed here for work purposes and must say it was wonderful from start to finish. Upon arriving I was greeted by the ever smiling Ant who helped me with checking in and directions to my room. 
The room was perfect for what I needed and was very clean! 
I later returned down to reception and to book a table for dinner and in the process was sold a meal deal by Victoria which included a dinner meal and a breakfast.

Would return here without any doubts.

Also being staff I know how hard it is to work in a hotel but the staff here seem to be doing an amazing job. They all have a smile on there face and are very helpful, nothing is ever to much trouble. The hotel is old yes, but seems to be very loved by the staff and they work have to keep it to a high standard.

Impeccable service given to us by Gaynor A made our dinner night one to remember!

Having decided to come down to Barnstaple for a weekend of photography we were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay and recharge after some long days out with the cameras.

Whilst this Premier Inn isn't in the centre of Barnstaple it is still a great location. Easily accessed and located opposite a large Tesco's supermarket we were sure to have everything we needed within a stones throw of the car.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and swiftly checked into the room. The room itself was the older style premier inn, big airy rooms with a large queen sized bed and an additional sofa bed, something I always like to have as a prep / staging area with bags etc.

We had a great and quiet night sleep, allowing us to recharge ready for each morning to be out early doors.

Your Typical Reliable Premier Inn

You get what you pay for. We paid just over £40 per night for a family of 4 and it provided a comfy bed for a few nights. 

Cons: The corridors are shabby with cracked ceiling panels, the bathrooms shabby and dated. There was someone elses rubbish under the bed when we checked in, so I question the quality of the clean between visitors. 
The Table Table that is beside which serves the breakfast didn't have a buffet style breakfast and only instant coffee. Generally speaking the food was ok. 

Pros: cheap. Comfy beds and pillows. Good location with a Tesco over the road and a soft play next door. 

If you're on a budget and need a cheap comfy bed for the night, then it's a winner

Cheap and comfy

Good location & fairly quiet. Good free car parking. Hotel looks tired & needs updating. Take an extension lead and USB plugs if you want plugs near bed!! 
Toilet roll dispenser and toilet roll was worse than public toilets! Luckily popped to Tesco over the road to buy our own. Beds were comfy
Breakfast next door was hit & miss. One day it was fine, next day it was cold, bacon like cardboard. Toaster was next to useless. Evening meal not so great, limited menu as they had run out of ingredients such as rice! Left waiting at table for 20 mins before finding someone to take our order for drinks & food. 

Good location

Everything was OK but the heavy footsteps in the rooms above was a problem at night. The driving lessons being held in the car park may also be a concern if the hotel had been busier and more cars parked

Noisy guests

The staff were friendly and the room was clean, but fairly run down. Unfortunately it was a noisy night as there were builders staying in the hotel and very heavy footed especially as we were on the ground floor. The restaurant was good but we were told there would be a 50 minute delay. The carpark was good with lots of free parking.

Car park was in a poor state,great care needed to enter and exit without damaging my vehicle.
Check in was fast and friendly.
Corridors smelled of stale sweat and smoke.Worst mattress I have ever had in any hotel,totally knackered should have been replaced long ago.Evening meal was good quality.
