We just enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend in the fabulous Blue Room in this stunning Georgian country house. 
Robert could not have been more welcoming. He produced both a lovely private dinner for my friend’s birthday surprise and tasty satisfying breakfasts all hand cooked with care.
Our stay was just fabulous from beginning to end, thanks again

My family visited Marlagh Lodge for my Fathers 60th Birthday on Saturday. Robert and his staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection! Such a stunning and personal setting. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants an intimate setting with delicious food. My Dad really enjoyed discussing the history of the house with Robert. A very memorable evening that will stay with us. Thank you!

Marlagh lodge is a magnificent building restored to its former glory by Robert our wonderful host, the decor is very tastefully done,with roaring fires and beautiful paintings. We had a very peaceful stay , the hotel is very quiet and the surroundings so serene. 
Robert is the perfect host! Nothing was too much trouble. He made our stay very comfortable indeed, we highly recommend his wonderful Hotel.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the owner Richard and his lovely BNB.  This historical home has been lovingly restored with amazing attention to detail.  Thankful it is being shared with its guest.  I felt comfortable and welcomed throughout my stay.  Richard had excellent recommendations in the folder for day trips and places to try for evening meals.  The sitting room was cozy to relax in with a warm coal fire.  The bedroom with sitting area and en-suite were nicely decorated making me feel as I was in a 5+ star resort. This is the perfect place to stay as a base to explore Northern Ireland.  I shall be back bringing my friends and family along.

Just left this fabulous place, after a long weekend visiting friends in the area.
From the moment we arrived the welcoming was warm and friendly. The rooms are amazing very clean and comfortable and breakfast was fabulous.. recommend you try the 'tummy warmer'!!
Cant say enough good things about this place and our host Robert is the most friendly, helpful and charming man you could hope to meet. We will definitely be back.

Marlagh Lodge is a wonderful place to stay.  It's a sumptuously furnished house with large bedrooms, nice bathrooms and a beautiful drawing room downstairs with a fire that Robert lit for us so that we could enjoy it in the evening when we got back from dinner out.  Robert's breakfasts were generous and delicious, and his plums are, as it says on the website, a particular and individual delight.  Robert is a charming, friendly, very hospitable host.  He is a professional musician and we enjoyed talking to him about the choir he directs. He gave us good recommendations for dinner in the evening and many helpful suggestions about things to look out for as we explored the area.  Marlagh Lodge is a very short (5-10 minute) drive from Ballymena, so it's convenient for the town, but also wonderfully convenient for all the beauties of the north coast and the gardens in the area.  
Robert gave us a lot of his time and put himself out for us in one or two particular ways for which we were very grateful.  He even managed not to gulp when one of our party suggested tearing a page out of his road book so that we had a better map of the area than was provided by our car hire firm.  Fortunately we had the better idea of taking a photograph of the page, but that was our suggestion rather than his.  Greater love hath no B&B owner, I thought to myself, than to countenance random guests despoiling one's posessions/    

Attended a wedding at The Ivory Pavillion, Galgorm Castle. Stayed at Marlagh Lodge overnight. Just a short inexpensive Taxi ride away with E Cabs. Very comfortable, spacious and “quaint” accommodation. Penny, the host could not have been more welcoming and informative. Breakfast was excellent. A most pleasant change from staying in a generic hotel!! Highly recommended. 

I stayed at the historic Marlagh Lodge for a period of 6 weeks for work. It was a wonderful experience. Robert was a fantastic host. He provides a warm welcome and cooks an excellent breakfast (I particularly enjoyed the poached plums). The rooms were clean, spacious and very elegant. I look forward to staying at Marlagh Lodge again in future.

My husband and I had a 2 night stay at Marlagh Lodge. Robert is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble even finding me a local hairdresser (Penny's recommendation)!. We were in The Chintz Room. Spacious & wonderful period decor throughout.
What impressed us most was the attention to detail pertaining to the period of the whole house. We have never had breakfast by candlelight due to a power cut caused by thunderstorms on the Saturday morning! It did mean we could not have a cooked breakfast however Robert was a very gracious host. The continental breakfast especially the plum compote was superb. We both had a very relaxed time and slept well. I would highly recommend Marlagh Lodge. So much so that we would like to stay again
