Metin Hotel

Came to Dalyan for my first visit on a recommendation from a friend. Stumbled across this hotel which had fantastic reviews and booked with Jet2. It’s a family run hotel and Nurten and her husband along with all the staff made my holiday fantastic. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is very centrally located. Only a 30 second walk to the main road in Dalyan, probably less than 3 or 4 minutes to the Mosque, square and river. Given its close proximity to the centre it’s extremely quiet, you literally can’t hear a thing. I had a lovely room in block A above reception overlooking the road, which had sun late afternoon and lovely views of the tombs which are lit up at night. Room itself was a great size with 2 beds, TV, dressing table, wardrobe, drawers, small safe, and possibly the best air conditioning I’ve ever had in a hotel room. Not a huge amount of sockets so bring an extension lead. Bathroom again was a great size and unlike other reviews I never had a problem with water pressure or hot water, I had a nice hot shower every day. Towels were changed several times during my week stay and were always clean and fresh. Cleaning team do a great job and unlike other hotels, they’re around all day always cleaning something, so I noted that the hotel was always clean and tidy. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace which has a nice breeze and gorgeous views of the tombs and mountains. Plenty of selection, bread, eggs, fruit, cheese, olives, jam and good coffee - everything you need. I often went towards the end of the 0800-1000 breakfast period and there was till plenty of selection so it’s constantly being stocked. Pool area is fantastic. Lovely and clean, plenty of sunbeds and cushions for them if you wanted them. Some of the sunbeds looked brand new and lots of tables. Also lots of parasols too so if you want to shade yourself you won’t have a problem, as the pool gets the sun all day. Pool is fairly deep all around but there is a small annexed kids pool which is shallower. Steps and ladders to get into the pool so if you’re not as mobile you’ll be fine. There’s a nice fountain in the middle of the pool which is on during the day too. Pool bar is lovely and shaded too, food and drinks very reasonably priced and of good quality. The bill is added to your room and you pay when you check out and you can pay cash or card. The lads that work on the pool bar and at breakfast are brilliant- nothing is too much trouble. Even during 35° heat (in their black uniform tops) they were always hard at work and happy to help. I had an extremely late flight home and wasn’t picked up until nearly 10pm and it wasn’t a problem for me to keep my room all day so I could make the most of my final day. I noted that there was lots of other solo travellers at the Metin during my stay, many of which were on their 4th or 5th year of annual visits which really shows that this is a great hotel, I was so fantastically looked after. Honestly there isn’t anything negative I can say about the Metin hotel, the amount of repeat visitors says they’re doing everything just right. I had a lovely holiday and I’m looking forward to another visit! If you want a great clean hotel, in a great location then the Metin is a perfect choice. Keep doing what you’re doing!
