The friendly staff welcomes you off the busy street into a calming labyrinth of beautifully decorated interiors. The ensuite bedroom was very spacious, a decent shower and comfortable pillows. Dinner and breakfast was delicious as my first meal in Tunisia. 

On my first visit to Djerba, I was travelling alone and I felt safe and welcome. The front desk had suggestions and a good knowledge of the surrounding area. I had dinner at their restaurant which was excellent, and cooled my feet by one of their two swimming pools.  Each room has its own unique cozy style and pristine comfortable beds. I would doubly recommend this hotel. 

On this first visit to Djerba, in search of Jewish presence and history, I chose to stay at Erriadh rather than the fancy Zone Touristique (photocopy of many zone touristique). Dar Dhiafa had been renovated in 2000 on a property which was 200 year old. The family who run the establishment is genial and helpful. 
The rooms are individualistic to say the least and has all the amenities necessary. A breakfast is provided and there is a restaurant in the hotel.  It is situated right in the smack of Djerbahood one of the largest outside art shows to be seen anywhere.  It is a short taxi ride away from Houmt Souk, the commercial area of the island. I found the atmosphere of the hotel to be very conducive to writing and relaxing. There is a pool but in January it is a bit chilly . The world famous El Ghriba synagogue is within walking distance

an oasis of calm and beauty tucked away in Djerba. Great hosts, loved our stay!!!! Fresh cottage cheese, pomegranate breakfast with great wine selection. The chef is amazing, the pool very inviting, the decor exquisite.

The hotel Dar Dhiafa is an absolute gem.
Situated in what used to be a Jewish village the rooms are quirky, interesting and I think they must all be different from each other. There are lovely little corners everywhere for guests to sit. We had the best night's sleep we have had for years in complete silence. We stayed for two nights and I wish it could have been longer. Our shower was particularly nice with tiles on the floor and up the wall. We had two meals in the restaurant and although not everything on the menu was available what we chose was delicious.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

My group of 8 stayed here for 2 nights as part of  Tunisian tour and just loved it. Every room  was an individual, great bathrooms and comfy beds. Simple but elegant and spread throughout the hotel. Two pool areas and a hammam (which we didnt use). Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely indoor and outdoor communal areas. There is a bar and a restaurant and food was good. Make sure you have a wander through the village to see all the street art. There were security guards on sight but maybe because of the jewish pilgrimage on at that time. The best thing was rhat when our flight was delayed for 5 hours (Tunis Air!) they let ys cone back and hang out in the hotel instead of sitting in an airport with nothing. Cannit understand comments about rude staff - everyone was simply delightful to us. Maybe you get what you give! Highly recommend

We stayed at this Dar before heading to the Sahara and when we got back again. This labyrinthine old house is beautiful--it has two lovely pools, comfortable rooms, a spacious dining room, and all sorts of nooks and crannies. While the space itself is very nice, it was the helpfulness of everyone from the owner and her son to every staff member that truly made our stay here worth recommending. We speak terrible French and they were more than willing to help us figure out everything we needed. They loaned us guide books, called taxis, had a meal waiting for us after a late arrival back from Douz. They gave us restaurant recommendations and hammam information. Basically everything we asked for, they tried to help with. This Dar is a taxi ride from most of the sights, the market, the beach. This wasn't a problem as the taxis are not expensive, but it is worth noting. Also, the wifi is only available in the lobby--not bad when you are trying to get away from it all, but again worth noting.

Lovely, charming and dreamy. The owner so kind! All very elegant but very easy.
We love it too much!! The room comfortable and highly thought-out. The breakfast delicious!   The food very good in particular the beef.  


If you want a break from the resort hotels and want to see something more authentic, spend some time in this lovely hotel. Beautiful design, clean and hospitable. An experience in itself right at the heart of Djerbahood.

Little gem in Djerba

let me start by the positive sides of this Dar, tucked away as they are.
The few ladies around were knowledgeable, helpful ( front desk)  and very friendly (all).
The rooms were clean and  tidy, everything worked properly.
The men were not quite surly, but definitely not trained for work in the hospitality sector. Walking around with your hands in your pockets....
The chef, Abdul, is good. His lamb chops are superb.
If you want a dip or a dive, the big pool is fine. Swimming not really for adults. The small pool is to walk in ...
The absolute worst thing for 2023 is that there's only WiFi in the small reception area.
