Vavau Villa

Vanessa and her staff were very kind, giving this place the very personalized feel of an Inn. I felt like a Moroccan princess, staying in the large tent which sported its own porch with a lounging couch and an adjacent, private bathroom separated by a wall from the bedroom. I enjoyed the evening ocean breeze, which was especially helpful to dry out our wet suits after swimming with whales all day. I felt like I was staying in a tree house, surrounded by calming calls of many different birds. We marveled at an enormous fox bat that flew by one evening. There was a faint sound of drumming in the distance, and yes, roosters, cows or roaming pigs some mornings. I used ear plugs and slept like a baby. I appreciated the location as it was close enough to town to take a $10-15 taxi in to dinner or church, but not so close that people would be wandering near your tent. We loved the Sunday brunch, but did need to rush to make it to 10am church. I felt safe jogging around the neighborhoods to both sides. I would stay here again.
