My partner and I wanted to spend some days on Railay before returning to Bangkok and since we are on a budget, we were trying to find the cheapest hotel on Railay that would still be (at least) acceptable. We stumbled upon Last Bar Seaview but doubted to book here because of two bad reviews of two French people. We decided to just give it a try and we are so happy we did. Upon arriving, Ned (the owner, whose desk is just outside on the main street) gave my partner a luggage carrier (trolley) since I was waiting with all the luggage at Railay West. When we both came back with all of our stuff, he helped us climb the stairs (a total of 99 to get to the room, not 3857 steps as previously stated by the weak French reviewer). The view is stunning, absolutely perfect and the pool has been turned into a pond with catfish, a turtle and frogs (we loved it!). The hotel is on the East side where the mangroves are and it is nice and relaxed back there, no problems at all with sewers (see stupid bad reviews). The room was perfect for us, good air conditioning and a nice bed with a duvet and sheets. Ned is a legend, great guy and made sure we were comfortable and happy. If you are looking for basic comfort, good airco and a kind owner, amazing view and a happy cheap stay: go to Last Bar! If you complain about ants (something that you can't keep out of any place because you are in Thailand) or a small crack in a wall please just pay the full price for a luxurious resort.
