Cloudy Hostel

I have stayed at this hostel several times before and lately I was very lucky to get a reservation with them during November and December 2018. Most of the time they are fully booked. I have always been very pleased with the ways the owner, front desk personnel and housekeeping have managed and cleaned and preserve the facilities and everything that makes it a cool spot in the city of Bangkok. When approached the owner about any maintenance issues he has responded to mend it with a great sense of urgency he is an individual that really cares about the property and the wellbeing of their guest. The front desk personnel always smiley and helpful, some have been there for a while pleased with their manager Mr. T., showing a low turnover rate which make them more competitive and knowledgeable of their positions and they show it providing helpful hints to all. At the beginning of December I lost my iPhone X and later recovered this happened on my very last day. Mr. Petchabum (not really his name but his hometown), make me realized I needed to activate certain security features in the iPhone, he also helped me to do this. On separated occasions, I forgot the iPhone around the hostel and he brought it back to me every time. The very sweet housecleaning ladies have also found my fanny pack... left hanging inside the toilet shower area with all my credit cards, passport and large amount of money in different currencies, and they immediately proceeded to returned it to the front desk. This tells a lot about their cooperation and priceless honesty, always willing to help and somewhat protect the guests at this facility. I stayed on the mixed dorm on the second floor. The linings provided are always clean sanitized. Body LICE free. Clean sheets, clean pillows, clean blankets, fresh clean towels and clean mattresses. The room have a very high state of the art AC split unit. The room also provides access to a small balcony with hanging metal racks or area to dry or hang thigs. There is also an air extractor in the room.. great idea!. There are spacious lockers and padlocks outside the rooms, and an area also to leave your shoes outside. There is plenty of space in between beds, individual lamps, and electrical outlets in each bed, with very useful wall shelfs and wall hooks. The bunk beds are firm and keep it from shaking others people beds. The showers are spacious with hot/cold water, liquid soap and shampoo free to use. There is free Wi-Fi in all rooms, and two rest pantry and lobby areas one at the entrance which provided a flat screen TV with several channels in Thai language. Free coffee, tea, sugar, cookies and creamers. Hot cold-water dispenser, small fridge, washing sink, dining tables and benches. On the first floor a computer terminal with a 17 inches screen for special needs, the facility will print document copies if needed some books and billboards with instructions on see and do recommendations. Electronic access to the facility and surveillance or security cameras on site. If needed laundry service is provided at a fee. The hotel is away from the main road noises and traffic. It is surrounded by small markets, post office, pharmacies, 7/11, MaxValu-Tanjai mini supermarket, some street vendors and early morning daily markets and weekend markets. The tastiest Watza Restaurant next door. Walking distances to the BTS, Airport Rail Link, buses, taxis, canal Khlong Saen Saep boats. Walking distances to Patrunam market, Platinum Mall, CentralWorld, Pantip Plaza IT city, MBK mall, Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC), all shopping district and much more. Cloudy does its own laundry and use very hot temperatures. It is a non-smokers hostel and not a party crazy hostel, it is rather what most travelers’ one in a decent hostel confort,rest, peace and quiet.
