Swisstrekkers

This was our first visit to Griesalp and we stayed one night on the Via Alpina trek. A quirky place with three hotel chalets which all appear to be of the same high standard with the restaurant located in the one we stayed in. Rooms lovely, a good size and bathroom immaculate. Evening meal was of a high standard and we enjoyed the Swiss raclette which was cooked outdoors in the traditional Swiss way. Staff were run off their feet but were always friendly and helpful. The hotel is accessed either by arriving on foot over a pass or by taking the post bus up a hair raising series of hairpin bends from Reichenbach. (or car if you are local). The proprietor was very helpful and up to date re the mountain paths and any issues which was most useful. The hotel has a couple of outdoor cafes as well which are very nice. This is a unique place in an off the beaten track location and we highly recommend the experience.
