(+) I think Valsaren is the best option if you look for good quality and reasonable price. An early check-in was arranged in a short notice, so I could move in at 10 o'clock. Spacious room with a comfy bed, big bath room, wooden parquet, huge TV, tea pot and tea bags plus cookies in the corridor, microwave, fridge, desk with a lamp, chest of drawers, hair dryer, iron. Great design in the corridor: glass cabinets with different things from the past: platters, coffee and tea boxes, sugar and salt packs, snuff, soap, chocolate marmalade, old gramophone, toaster and black and white mini-TV, etc. and photos of Vasteras in XIX and beginning of XX century. If you have nothing to do in the evening, you can spend it in a room with small library (hope they have books in different languages). There is a big room with many tables, so if you come with kids, you can play table games with them. (-) Bad wi fi connection in room 17. Not a nice view from the rooms. A bit far from the city center. There are no restaurants in the vicinity.
