The Butterfly Inn

The rooms are cabana style with 2 rooms per cabana and sharing a common terrace. The cabanas are in a garden setting and the surrounding is peaceful and quiet, and back to the nature with birds chirping and butterflies flitting. Really a nice quite place to read. The rooms are simple in layout. The TV is set rather high. It has a good selection of programs. Wi-fi was not available during the stay due to road construction damaging the lines. The restaurant is airy and surrounds a big leafy tree. The Sri Lankan omelette (without the coconut oil) is probably the best I have ever tasted. The pool is big. It was a pity it is leaking and undergoing repairs. There is a sports hall for badminton and also some gym equipment. Understand the butterflies are plentiful in Apr-May when many flowers are in bloom. Do explore the outside area. Take a walk to the Walahapitiya railway station. There is a big rice field and lake near it. There is a footpath between the rice field and the lake, nice to have a picnic there and just laze around, looking at the skies and the waters and the birds and butterflies.
