Maleesha Homestay

The owners made us feel so welcome, making sure we had everything we needed. Lovely, comfy bed and amazing breakfast with plenty of freshly picked fruits. Such a gorgeous little find, just a ten min walk from Ella train station and very close to all the shops, bars and restaurants.  They even organised a driver for our onward travel at a very reasonable price.  I would 100% recommend and go back in a heartbeat if I was ever in Ella again. 

The accomodation is clean with a large bed, hot water and a fridge, owner family is very kind and friendly. 

The location is good - aside from noisy roads, however close to all places you need - 5 mins to main road and bus stop, 10 mins to railway station, 10 mins to beginings of path to 9 arch bridge and path to little Adam's peak.

Breakfast is amazing (must try sri lankian) - portion is big and taste is very good.

Beware that time to time there is elctriciry outages in the region - anyway it didn't caused us any troubles as it's usually get fixed within one hour.

We enjoyed the stay very much. 

The homestay is off from the noise of the road. Nevertheless it is very central. Whether Little Adams Peak, the 9 Arch Bridge, restaurants, train station and bus stop, everything can be reached on foot. 

The Maleesha family is very helpful. They also give great tips and help with train and bus connections as well as activities. During our trip to the mountains our breakfast was already handed over at 6 o'clock in the morning as a packed lunch. We didn't expect this and were very happy about it. 

The accommodation is perfect for those who do not necessarily need a panoramic view and want to enjoy a quiet good Sri Lanka breakfast.

We found this guest house accidentally and were really happy to stay there! Very warm welcome, friendly family and good food 👌🏻 Highly recommend to taste rice and curry there. We thank all the family for their reception 🙂

This homestay is led by a nice lady. Every room has its own balcony with a table and a sofa. The bed is very comfy and the WiFi good. The hotel is located close to everything you’ll need in Ella, yet in a more quiet street than the main road. Highly recommendable. 

We stayed at the property for 2 nights and from the moment we got to the property we were made to feel like one of the family. Comfortable rooms with everything thing we needed for our stay. The property is nicely positioned between little Adams peak/ 9 arch bridge and the towns high st for the bars and restaurants so very convenient for access to the main things in and around Ella.

Breakfast each morning was also fantastic. If we come back to Ella we’d would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was perfect, delicious, plenty and different every morning. I loved it. 
The place is literally a 2 minute stroll from main road and all the shops/restaurants, etc. (this is only if you are lucky enough to find the shortcut. Unfortunately, they don't have a board on the main road indicating Maleesha homestay and if you ask for indications most people will point you to the long way there...and it is a very long way. I told them they either need to put a board on the main road and or come and meet people at the station or send an email (after you book) with indications on how to take the shortcut. 
The garden is really nice and a quiet place for breakfast and dinner. You are in the heart of Ella but not in all the noise and road traffic. Was nice just to sit on the table outside and watch the squirrels play. 
Shower water is warm.
Owner and daughters are really nice and they try and be helpful every way they can. 
They really need to refurbish and upgrade the room in which I stayed. It is the oldest room in the structure, the one they started with 7 years ago (it is a room inside their main house while the other 2 have independent access. The other 2 more recently built rooms were really nice (I had a look) and they never thought about improving it ever since. The room is in general fine but needs some upgrading for the price. The mosquito net has some holes in it (which defeats the purpose). The mattress is way too thin (they have nice new spring ones in the other rooms). The window is small and doesn't close properly. 
Would be nice to have a private table outdoors with a small patio (like the other 2 rooms). This one shares the small patio and little table with the main entrance of the owners' house so you kind of have no privacy. It's all small things which, if taken care of, would make the place perfect. 
The 2 newer rooms are completely different so, please, put an effort in renovating this one too!

Enjoyed my time hear, away from the main road. Good location to get to Little Adams peak. Host was helpful in providing directions to Ella rock and 9 Arch bridge, with train times. The Sri Lankan breakfast was fantastic and catered to taste.. The bed was supper comfy with a proper spring mattress. Host also completed washing at a reasonable price
