The views were absolutely amazing looking down the valley, and that was from the balcony of the room (you need to be in a B room), the restaurant on the top floor also had good views. The basic map of the walks was a nice extra. The rooms were simple, clean and had all the necessaries. The breakfast was good and there were a number of choices. There was a miscommunication about the in-house dinner

We were very satisfied with the stay in Ella. The rooms were clean, the owner and his wife helpful. They also have a dog, which is very cute and friendly, and he kept us company from the eavning till morning, as we set on the rooftop terrace, watched the stars and enjoyed the smell of sandalwood from houses around us. 
The view of the valley and little Adam's peak was also calming, especially mornings, when you heard the prayer from the nearest buddhist temple. It gave you at the same time relaxation and the power for all day. I really felt as I was in heaven. 
The small, but attractive city is right under the accommodation, a few minutes walk on a path with steps. Even if you were heading back from the city, you couldn't get lost, cuz everywhere you can see the signs, which are leading back to Sita's heaven. 

This is a nice place to stay.  Sweeping views over the gap from the balcony.  We were a family of four and were provided a very large and comfortable room.  

The owners were very friendly and helpful.  A short walk into town.

Breakfast was on the rooftop.  Ask the owner about the hand-made wood furniture and don’t missing sinking into one of the steamer chairs with your feet up.

We were a family of 4 (two adults and two children) staying here for 2 nights in January 2020. It is a lovely family run hotel who made it very homely and it's great for a two night short stop. The breakfast is fantastic - huge portions and very tasty - and overlooks the Ella Gap which was an incredible sight. The view was unforgettable and the location of the hotel is ideal. Getting to the hotel by car is a bit tricky as it is located down a narrow rough road so you need to have a skilled driver like we did! There is a convenient shortcut from the hotel to walk to Ella town centre which is just a 10 minute walk away via some steps (make sure to take a torch though).  

The rooms and bathroom were very basic and although they had no A/C, they did have fans. There were quite a few insects but that's expected given it's situated in the hills and I doubt there is any hotel in Ella which won't have any bugs wondering around outside the room! 

Overall, we had a fantastic stay here and would recommend it as the hotel offers great value for money!

Not easy to reach by car but only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Amazing view for the rooftop breakfast. Good location and friendly helpful owner Mr JP. Well worth a stay and value for money given the breath taking scenery. Rooms clean with mosquito nets provided. 

We first got a room on the ground floor (2b), which had an awefull smell and was terribly humid. We made a complaint and got a new room without any problem. The new room was much better and in coheranse with what we thought we would get when we booked.
Nice and basic room but with an amazing view. Recomend gjetting a room om the 1st floor. 
Practical location with regardes to Ella Town and hikes.

Staff speaks well english, are helpfull and friendly. Made us breakfast at 5.30 am and they have laundry service. 

Recomend taking Lankas cooking class, Just down the hill from Sita's.

Stayed for 2 nights...could have done with an extra night given the amount of walking options around Ella. A decent breakfast. The owner and his family were helpful and welcoming. No real complaints. Definitely worth choosing a place with a great view of the Gap, many in Ella do not have it.

An unnoticed double booking by booking.com resulted in us being taken in by the kind owners of Sitas heaven. We were given the only room they had left which I guess was quite low standard, but we loved it. Largest mosquito net over the bed so far! The owner prepared breakfast takeaway for us since we were leaving on adventures in the middle of the night - highly appreciated!

Nice clean hotel, rooms and bathroom ok but no A/Con, no safe and no tea making facilities. OK for a short stop, one or two nights but that would all. Hotel is located down a tight narrow rough road so driving to it is bumpy. Ella is just a ten minute walk away via some step and road leading out the back, take a torch for nighttime you will need it. Make sure you have an adapter as all sockets are the round pin type. Views from the hotel main block at the front to the first floor are amazing. Breakfast was good, fruit tea and eggs. No evening meals served here but there are loads of restaurants in Ella just down the road. Bad point is the rooms have no sound proofing and while we were there on the first night the local mosque was chanting ALL night long via the loud speakers from 9am until 5am, this in turn set off the local dogs barking and howling at each other all night. Second night was totally opposite and dead quite so just be warned it can be very noisy. 

Two nights B&B

The patriarch at this hotel is a builder. He built his parents house when he was 16 and he hasn’t stopped since. He has an obsession with perfection and this made staying in his hotel a delIght! The doors, windows, locks and everything works perfectly.

His daughter who runs the hotel is a fabulous cook and a tremendous hostess! 

The hotel is great but our disappointment is with Ella on two counts: 1. The mistreatment of dogs it’s gut wrenching. School children are taught to hit them with sticks and stones. Most are diseased with fleas and horrible skin diseases, malnutrition and starvation. It broke our hearts!

They bark all night, the packs war with each other and then we had to listen to submissive dogs crying in pain from the fight. Ugly!

2. There is no safe place for pedestrians to walk. We are currently in Nuawa Eliya and walking safely on their sidewalks is sheer joy! 

If you want us to recommend Ella to pur friends and family, you have to step up your game and make it a great place to be!
