Personally I like the place and our group proved that.  and reasonable price.. they got nice Sri Lankan crab curry.. only one complaint is bathroom showers bit confusing and always hot water on... specially in hot weather. Apart from that generally i can guaranteed. awesome..

We like it 

If I were to be nice, I'd say that the hotel was a combination of abhorrent and disgusting. Having reached at the middle of the night, the manager (who was informed of our late arrival long beforehand) failed to give us the rooms that we had booked. Having understood that human error is natural we tried to manage with the few rooms available and even then he refused to give it to us after noticing that our entourage consisted of small children and the elderly. Something sketchy seemed afoot as he let us check out a different set of rooms and something we all noticed was that the linen used by the establishment (if you can call it that ) had Jackson Pollock-esque stains, the pillows included!

The whole scene almost got ugly thanks to his refusal to let us use the rooms (the ones we booked online after having read the reviews)  and absolutely disgusting, unprofessional behaviour. In truth, we were spared the torture of having to have stayed in a dump like Taprospa Palm Leaves as we later learnt that the location was famous for being a hub for prostitution (thus explaining the smells and vibe of said dump).

The entire family of 20 had to take to the streets and wander around until the helpful locals pointed us in the direction of an absolutely lovely hotel by the name of Green Grass Hotel. 

Final Verdict: If you're still reading this looking for silver lining, don't waste your time AND look for the most recent reviews before you book. Rain clouds have silver lining, clouds that rain feces only leave you with distaste, disgust and the need to have disinfectant poured all over your body...

ABSOLUTE CRAP!

Me and my family of 20 pax travelled to Jaffna , Sri Lanka after making bookings through the Booking.com app with palm leaves hotel Jaffna . Due to a train schedule change we had to request for some changes and after Many telephone calls system confirmations etc ,. We arrived at the destination around 11.30 pm. When we arrived at the facility we got the worst ever customer service at mid night . Firstly the hotel was locked up and had to stand out for a long time tapping at the gate and calling etc.,. Then a person called the manager who was coordinating arrived and after checking the system etc He  simply said he can not accommodate as it was a mis understanding from his end . Not just the changes , he even refused to give the original booking. It was a family trip with the oldest being 84 years and youngest being 7 years with many young girls and we were left without a place to spend the night on the streets . We had no way of getting help from booking.com nor they responded to any of our messages up to now . It’s been 5 days now And no response nor any action being taken on the hotel as well. We some how managed the night with a different hotel which was helpful and we were also informed by the neighborhood that this place is not safe for families and it supposed be a bad place . Palm leaves irresponsible and worst ever inhuman customer service in the world !

Palm leaves - Worst accommodation place in Jaffna

We got down from the station at 12 am and walked into the hotel pretty exhausted and we find out that the manager has made a mistake in the booking . He keeps denying his mistake and at 12.30 he said that we were “threatening” him and said he will not give us our rooms. With a family consisting of children and teenage kids we were sent to walk around an unfamiliar town at 12.30 in the midnight to find for a new hotel.  Do not recommend such service at all. Hope this place gets shutdown.😒

Useless manager

Easily without any question this place is the worst place I have ever stayed in! We booked for 2 nights and they wanted a 50% payment ( to their head office in CMB ) so we were doomed here. 

Our welcome was horrid as the guy handling it was only concerned about the advance payment we had made. 

The room as we entered, was stinking and the bathroom looked something from a horror movie! 

The room in general was smelling damp and the bathroom was worse! 

The pool was rather off too and it's kinda with the car park. Basically the pool and car park are in one! 

The only reason we stayed here the night we had paid for was because we had no way to get a refund from here.... 

I have stayed in cheaper places in the south for far better and this place is an absolute rip off and fraudulent!

Don't ever go here!

We cut our stay short to one night instead of two, we would have the moment we checked in had we not already made the first night's payment/ traveled 10 hours from Colombo.

The hotel is located on a quiet lane off the main road in Jaffna, the stench at the entrance of the hotel was quiet unbearable due to the open drains filled with garbage and god knows what in them.
We then got into our rooms and noticed that the rooms smelt bad as well, the walls were damp and there was visible traces of mold (as seen in picture). The bathroom sink tap stop working 5 minutes into our stay, also important to notice that the bathroom doubles up as a sauna since there is no ventilation available, which will leave you gasping for air if you decide to have a hot shower.

The pool is terribly maintained, the water in it smelled like it had been seating in there for a while without any chlorine being used to clean the pool.

This place is a complete rip off for the price they charge, would not recommend it to anybody.

An experience that will tickle your senses in the worst ways

Very uncleaned and smelling rooms. There are no staff only manager does everything. He was trying to do his best but not a good place. Pool also uncleaned. Lot of mosquitos around. some linen brought to us were still damp.

Poor Quality Hotel

Person in charge reservation is mutt and a fool, no hospitality at all. place is not a decent one. after confirmation the rooms were sold to some others. when we went there only got to knew the place is famous for prostitution

NO HOSPITALITY

Avoid! We were probably the last customers! Pool next to the cars! Very smelling the rooms of humidity, overpriced fir dinner and breakfast!
If they want to keep the hotel they should rebuild the rooms totally! We did not want to stay in the room even
