It was my first Contact with ayurveda and It was a great experience! The staff, a delight, including therapists, doctor, housekeeping staff, waiters, Cook, driver...I would like to mention them all, these are the only ones that I remember: Ridade (thanks for help me with the names;)), Chamodi, Chandeni, Abi, Kamal, Sampath, Prasana, Manoja, Sudarshana,  Deepal, Nadun, Shiromi, Adeesha, Chaturanga, Padmini, Minitha... thanks everyone!!!

I visited Sign of Life for the 3rd time 21st of January - 2nd of February and I was as pleased with the stay as during previous stays. The whole team is fantastic, loving and very knowledgeable. It feel like my whole body has been treated. Therapists were truly engaged to care for my body. After the treatments if felt almost reborn, or at least many years younger. My spirit was also nourished with excellent food. I´m extraordinary grateful for their care.

***This review is for Spirit of Life, the sister property to Sign of Life, which is only a 10 minute free tuktuk ride away. I occasionally visited the beachfront Sign of Life which is beautiful, but i preferred the relative seclusion and peaceful vibe in the gardens of Spirit. Both places have their own unique appeal and experience.

Review
My first time in Sri Lanka and first time doing an Ayurveda (Panchakarma) treatment. This is the place to do it. Beautiful and serene place in an exquisite setting. Wonderful, attentive and abundantly kind staff, who genuinely cared about my wellbeing – it’s as if they know what i needed before i did. The treatments were superb, skilled hands lovingly massaging my body with the finest oils, all done with true kindness and authenticity. Everyone smiling and caring! Delicious food – breakfast, lunch and dinner – all expertly chosen, prepared and cooked by the kind kitchen staff. The rooms are amazing – i stayed for two weeks at the Spirit of Life retreat which is the sister property to Sign of Life (beach retreat only 10 mins free tuktuk ride – another lovely place to be, but I preferred the peace and tranquility and seclusion of Spirit) and didn’t want to leave. So quiet, so tranquil, lush gardens, sparkling clean rooms, a perfectly–sized swimming pool for the occasional dip, and a delightful open air dining area to enjoy all the meals while overlooking the well–kept garden/property. All in all, this was a truly memorable time for me, a place to rest and heal, to reflect and restore, to enjoy the bountiful nature, among the kindest and most welcoming people who genuinely care. Thanks to all the staff who took great care of me/us. Extra special thanks to Sanjeewah, Nilu, Deepal, Diljan, Kamal. If you’re looking for an authentic place for Ayurvedic treatments, come stay here and heal for a few weeks or so – you’ll be glad you did. I’ll be back.

We had not enough time for a full Ayurveda treatment of 2 weeks at least, so we just stayed for a week. We enjoyed it very much. The hotel, the staff and the unobtrusive service, the beach and just everything. The treatments were excellent and all the therapists know their stuff very good. And the food! You do not get much to eat on Ayurveda, but we enjoyed every single meal. It was versatile and tasty and every day something new to taste from. If I ever have the time for a full treatment, this would be my spot. Family atmosphere with just 10 guests and German speaking.

It took me a while to decide where to do my Panchakarma Treatment in Sri Lanka but I definitely took the right decision. I could not have been in better hands. The hotel is simple but irradiates a lovely relaxed atmosphere right by the sea. It is located at a nice long beach away from the touristic hassle. Only as at many Asian beaches it hurts to see the plastic garbage right next to the sea. I have no words to describe my experience at Sign of Life - the treatments are excellent. The best massages I have ever got. All the staff - from the cleaning ladies to the stewards to the therapists are kind-hearted and lovely people. You can feel that they love what they are doing and that they are truly concerned about the well doing of their guests and giving everything to make them feel at home. I have never felt so spoiled and well taken care of. The hotel is full of  details - from the amazing decorations at the bed to the fresh flower decorations every where every day. And the food is absolutely delicious. Since I am back, I miss my sign of life family every day. And I hope to be back soon. By the way -  Most of the guests feel the same as most of them are "repeaters". A unique experience I will treasure until I can come back

Known for the best Ayurveda treatments in Srilanka Felt like home truly amazing staff specially with their magical massage from Shalika and dilshan. also with the treatments and food was awesome . really good service and hospitable management . Will be coming back soon . Miss you guys

This was my fifth or sixth visit....so you know I understand both Ayurveda and Sri Lanka....and I will probably be back there again. I love the care and attention to detail. This place is about excellent service, small and personal attention. Reasonably priced and the staff is well trained and very warm. The food was excellent and healthy, the treatment perfectly schedule and the rooms spotless and comfortable.

Delicious whole food prepared with love & care, from farm to plate. Truly sustainable living. 

The daily 2-hr massage treatment was truly special and was the highlight of my days. I've been to 20 countries, and have tried Ayurvedic Massage in other parts of Sri Lanka, so trust me on that. 

On top of that, if finding flowers all over your room is considered routine room service, then a glass of watermelon juice by your doorstep when you just come out of shower would be a delightful surprise?

Imagine someone knock on your door, telling you meal is ready, or it's time for a massage; or hands you a thermos after detoxing, repeatedly warns you to drink all of it. 

Imagine someone holding a warm cup of herbal tea especially prescribed for you, waiting for you at the gate after your beach walk, as if they always know what you are up to. 

Does that sound familiar?  Motherly love, perhaps?

I spent two weeks at the resort mid-September 2016 during off-season. The resort had between four and six guests during that time - and about 20 staff!. I booked my stay through verwoehnurlaub.de which provided very competent and quick advice what resort to chose and arranged everything perfectly. The highlight at the resort was the excellent service and care from the staff. Starting with helpfulness and flexibility from management, very attentive room service, great cooking and a highly qualified treatment team. The resort is on the beach and the sound of breaking waves days and night added to my relaxation. From a medical perspective, I came to calm down inbetween jobs and to get rid of a persistent gastritis (h.p. positive and fructose intolerance). Relaxation was great. However, my gastritis didn't go away. Its unclear to me whether the stay was simply too short or whether ayurvedic treatment is not appropriate for this. 
Areas for improvement are non-resort specific and relate mainly to the garbage on the beach. While the hotel beach itself was taken well care off, a stroll on the beach was difficult and not enjoyable. But that is a Sri Lankan problem and cannot be held against the resort as such. Furthermore, I remain sceptical as to the potential of ayurvedic treatment to treat more serious conditions. After my experience, I consider it to be a great wellness exercise. 
I would definitely come again in a similar situation. Although there may be times when I would chose a somewhat larger resort that provides more opportunities to engage with fellow guests.
