I stayed many times over here. Keep coming to here already about 6 times. Family is really friendly and helpful. Even when I was sick they cared about me as about own daughter. Really good location! 2 minutes to the beach and also close to local food places. Thank you to Wimal & Canchana

Nice and clean room, we got the best breakfast at Sri Lanka. The family is wonderful and you really get a lot for your money. I can highly recommened this guesthouse! We took a morning swim before breakfast every day, its close to the beach and walkingdistance to everything and some minute away from the big Galleroad.

Kind and Love guest house is located 5 minutes walking from Hikkaduwa beach, in a street where many guest houses are located. We checked at least 5,6 lodges and guest houses in that street before we found Kind and Love and it was the best of them all. The owner is very nice and kind, offered us a very good price for two rooms with attached bathrooms. Rooms are small but clean , beds are comfortable and it is quiet in the night. The rooms don't have AC but have fans which was sufficient. Also, some rooms don't have hot water in the shower but only warm. Considering the high temperatures in Hikkaduwa- there was no problem with this. The breakfast was delicious and they offer Sri Lankan and European(continental) breakfast for low price. Wifi connection was good in all rooms. All in all, Kind and Love guest house is good value for the money.

Beautiful family, best breakfast I got in Sri Lanka, nice and clean rooms and very low prices.
A few minutes away from the traffic but still walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
I took a morningswim at the beach before breakfast every morning. 
Soon the family also will offer AyurVeda treatments, that will be awesome.

A small family run budget guest house, located very close to Hikkaduwa beach. There are plenty of restaurants close by. The host is very polite and friendly. I felt like staying at home. For emergency and quick cooking, guests can use the kitchen and utensils and cutlery. Reasonable pricing.

The couple running this place where kind and welcoming.
While staying here I was hit by a the flue, with a high temperature and sore throat I didn't want to do anything but the owners where lovely making sure I was comfortable and making me cups of tea.

We payed 900 rupees per night to stay in the 3man dorms and this included breakfast which consisted of 3 pieces of toast, jam, an egg, a banana, some pineapple and a cup of tea or coffee. It was nice but maybe somewhat overpriced as you can eat for much cheaper in the local restaurants.

The rooms where not big but I was happy as I was on a single bed (not a bunk) for the first time in a while and there was a great mosquito net provided. It was clean and comfortable. The rooms don't have ensuits but there are enough bathrooms. There is loo roll and soap provided but we only got cold water.
It is also in a great location being only about 100m off the main road which runs right along next to the beach. There are lots of restaurants both local and touristy to choose from.

Staying with friendly family

Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience here. Not only is the staff unfriendly, the rooms are also very dirty. We have always stayed in low budget hostels and were satisfied with all of them, but this one is not worth even the little money. The bathroom was extremely dirty and there is no AC, which is advertised.

The staff was really unfriendly and the bathroom was dirty. Also there was no AC and warm water, even though they advertise it.  The location ist directly at the railway tracks, so it was very noisy and hard to rest. In general I can not recommend the hostel, not even for the little money
