After booking with Agoda we had to cancel due to Covid-19; our flights were cancelled & British passport holders unable to enter Sri Lanka. Full payment had been taken, however Agoda's policy is that a full refund should be made, and the hotel confirmed by email that this would happen. Since then there had been no refund and the hotel does not reply to my emails. Agoda has tried to help but will not take responsibility. I see a number of other customers have had payment issues with this hotel so clearly management is not to be trusted.

Avoid this hotel

Very nice establishment with charming staff, the view is sensational, and even for the cheapest rooms, a terraced space with a magnificent view with hammock to dream with this view of Ella Roc!!

This is a beautiful institution.

The view is spectacular but other than that this was a terrible stay. The room had many faults... plug sockets hanging off, lights not working, dirty bed sheets (they had been cleaned but black marks all over them) and a very mouldy bathroom. The breakfast wasn’t very nice at all and the food was very stale.

I had paid for the property prior to arriving but decided to upgrade my room when I got there. Unfortunately instead of just taking the extra money for the room upgrade they charged me the full property price again. They said they would refund me but this never materialised.

The property then blocked me from messaging them and have so far refused to give me my money back. Fortunately booking.com are sorting this and I’d be surprised if they keep the hotel on their site.

Please avoid staying here.. the manager was aware they had overcharged me and agreed at the time to refund me but has been avoiding this ever since.

It’s not worth the hassle or the money to stay and there are much better options in Ella.

Avoid!!

Beautiful views of the room, huge panoramic windows and bathroom window. Very clean, spacious room. Tasteful breakfast, freshly picked juices, fruits. Very responsive staff, respond to any request, every day called or provided with a tuk-tuk with the driver, called a taxi. Provided with an escort to climb the Ella-rock. Choose a luxury room and you will not regret it! The only thing you need is a lot of walking up and down the mountain - the features of the area, stay in a place where you need to go down a steep slope and get up to the road as well, it's better to use this tuk-tuk.

Amazing species

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in February 2020. The weak points are: The photos that no longer represent the current state of the hotel. The washed bed but with tasks, changing the bed would be a plus for the hotel. The cardboard walls The smells of sewage The staff who do not respect their guests (silence) The garbage that must be crossed to get to the hotel. The most: The view The shower Scooter for hire Receptionist at the top However, if the experience still tempts you, do not take the room 107 that is under the dining room or any room that is in the basements. In short, a hotel to avoid which does not match any of the other photos and notes.

The view...

We spent three nights in a deluxe room. The bathroom has grown old and is in urgent need of renovation. Air conditioning is not available but also not needed. Staff is very nice, but unfortunately only the boss and the receptionist speak good English! The other staff are always trying but unfortunately the communication is bad! Breakfast is enough (unfortunately instant coffee) We ate at our own restaurant the first night, a mistake! We waited an hour for our meal. When I got his partner's meal, we were asked for my order once again! Not at all! And no, it wasn't. Except for a full table, sorry...

I'm sorry, it's not a great hotel.

We spent two nights at Nature View in a deluxe room. The view is really incredibly beautiful. You can look directly at a waterfall and into the mountains. A few small flaws like hanging cables are quickly removed there. The staff were also friendly and always helpful. One point of departure due to the construction work that is currently taking place (the deluxe rooms are being extended by another floor). From the morning on, work is done and then it is loud in the hotel. A warning from the hotel before or during arrival would have been nice.

A sensational outlook

The views from Nature view rooms are truly exceptional, almost unreal. This is what this hotel is about. The rooms are nice but needs updating - especially the bathroom fittings. The breakfast is good - especially the omelettes. We did our laundry and it was a very professional service and reasonable as well! Overall a good stay.

Unbelievable views

From this hotel you have fantastic views of the mountains and a water fall. You can easily reach the track to Ella Rock from here. The standard of the rooms are quite simple but clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Fantastic views and good service

It was a great experience at Ella Nature View.. We booked the deluxe family room and it was spacious and clean. My 3 kids were able to run around and have fun..Waking upto the sound of waterfall and amazing view was so heavenly and peaceful.

Their breakfast menu was very tasty though the options are less. But their services are great from the receptionist to everyone. 

The location is just a 3 minute ride from the railway station and they were packed us early breakfast to catch the train..

The deluxe room was easy to climb down but not easy to climb up especially with a 1 yr old kid we had to carry. 

Dinner was the same every night maybe they could have more alacarte options.
