Host was so helpful. Made my travel so easy with transportation and recommendations. 
Central location to go to ancient sites. 
He and his family are so kind. 
The breakfast was homemade and delicious. I wouldn't change a thing. I would stay there again

The little cabanas are located in a forestry backyard close to the train station, which is very convenient for travelers arriving late by train. The owner, Indike, is a very lovely man who will drive you into Habarana town in his tuk tuk without charging you it is also a great place for any other travelers. Because there are very few trains passing by, the place is nice and quiet to relax with frequently visiting wild elephants snooping around the garden. The rooms are spacious and very clean and have everything you need. Indike also drove us to Sigiriya for a reasonable price, arranged a very good guide and Jeep for an elephant safari and got us a reliable driver to Haputale. Overall he was a very lovely host who got us everything we needed even if it was hot water in the middle of the night for some Sri Lankan cough medicine.

Indika went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing few days while staying in Habarana. He was the perfect host and you could not fault the service! From dropping us off to the local town& collecting us at 1:30am after watching a World Cup match, to arranging our tours and taxis - nothing was too much to ask! 
After asking him about the wild elephants near by, he kept watch and him/his family came to the rooms on two occasions to let us know that there was an elephant walking around the grounds! 
The delicious breakfast and dinner made by his wife was the perfect addition to an amazing stay in the Habarana Wild Resort.

I was travelling with a party of three. We rented both rooms in the guest house. Indika was so helpful even before we arrived. The guesthouse is on his land, absolutely gorgeous open space outside. We saw a peacock and elephants less than 50m from the room on three occasions!! Indika served us a lovely traditional breakfast, which was included. And then cooked ya a lovely traditional dinner for one of our nights. He was so so helpful, organising all of our excursions and waving us off, making sure we got on our way!! He really couldn’t do enough for us, bringing us water at night time, making arrangements for us...he even drove us to the nearest viewing of England playing in the World Cup in his Tuk Tuk. He waited until 1.30am to collect us from the restaurant. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! 

what an awesome place. Indika picked us up from the train station and took us to his delightful little homestay ( 2 rooms) nestled in the jungle.
beautiful spacious and clean rooms with a lovely view of the trees and nature, so peaceful.
Indika was the perfect host and went out of his way to make us welcome.
He made us all our meals, which were very generous in portion and value for money.
he arranged a tour for us to visit the wildlife elephant park and also took us into town for free to see other sights. I loved every aspect of this fab little GH and the host was delightful. highly recommend, if youre after peace and quiet, nature and an authentic experience of sri Lankan food

Came based on good reviews and were not disappointed. Indika went out of his way to look after us, giving us an excellent itinerary for the three nights we stayed. He suggested local buses to save us money (despite being a tuktuk driver) and took us into Habarana for free. Bottled drinking water was also free. 
The room was immaculate and looked like new. Styling is minimalistic and tasteful. Bathroom well designed and although no hot water the pressure is good, and it was so hot we did not need hot water. Air con worked very well and mosquito net fitted the king size bed (which came with two pillows). Wifi was great. Breakfast was plenty and included wonderful fresh fruit. Dinner was simple but tasty and good value.  
The highlight was the wildlife- the bungalows overlook a meadow area with trees- we saw multiple birds, monkeys, a mongoose just outside. The highlight was on our first night when an elephant came into the area and pulled down a tree, which it stripped for bark in front of us: an amazing sight. 

We looked at lots of similar seeming places before choosing here and are sure we made the right choice- Indika and the wildlife really set it apart from everywhere else we've stayed.
