We had such an amazing stay at Teakvilla in June 2017. The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful garden full of butterflies. Location is ideal, plenty of tranquility but with only a 5 minute walk from the town center. The owner was very kind and the breakfast was sensational!! It was our first destination in Sri Lanka (of a 2 month trip), and I look back on it as one of the best. We loved Habarana, and if we were to come back we would definitely choose Teakvilla again. We had a great night stay here the service was amazing. They were such a cute family that would do anything for you and it felt like we were out in country  We booked the jeep safari through minneriya np a lot cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. I would definitely stay again. 

We stayed at this lovely little guest house for 2 nights. It's perfectly situated for a short bus ride to Sigiriya Rock, and Safari at Minneriya National Park. The room was very reasonably priced, the bed was comfy, there was a fan, ensuite and mosquito net - everything one needs! The hosts were so kind and caring, your every need is anticipated, they are most generous souls, and the food is exceptional; without doubt the most delicious home cooked Sri Lankan food we've had, huge portions, again - incredibly generous and very very good! We were taken to the bus stop and carefully told how to get to Sigiriya, and our excellent Safari was completely organised for us; our guide was lovely too and we saw over 150 elephants!! Everything was easy for us here we had a wonderful relaxing time. I would highly recommend Teakvilla! 

A very quaint ‘hotel’ with 3 rooms; 2 attached next to each other, and the third surrounded by bush land. The rooms were presented nicely, the last room quite large (two double beds). Showers were hot if you use the one with the boiler, and you are provided a towel (something us backpackers were not used to). Visitors such as frogs, geckos and ants would join you on the regular. Wifi is good but occasionally drops out - make sure you get the right password (it changes). Owner is not on location but the hotel is managed by the older couple next door. They are supremely lovely but are very brief with their English. We were lucky to have a tour guide stay in one of the rooms who helped with information and translating. 
Habarana itself is small and not required to be seen, although this hotel is close to the crossroads where you can easily get the bus to Polonnaruwa to see the ruins. A good base, but if I did it again I’d probably stay in Dambulla. 
If you stay in the double room with fan there is an crooked and rocky ‘path’ to get there. Lights are sometimes turned on so go slow and don’t stub your toe. 

We didn't book any accommodation when coming to Habarana as we had been told previously that there were plenty. Now, this is true but most of them are ridiculously overpriced and the ones that are not are horrible in several aspects. Teak Villa was our nice surprise. Although we still feel that it's a bit overpriced for what is offers it has great potentials with its current manager (caretaker?), Sunil. He is such a lovely guy and goes out of the way for his guests and his Sri Lankan breakfast was simply lovely.
The place itself is just a couple of rooms in a small building in a middle of an empty yard (maybe they'll do developments here soon?) but it has a 'private little jungle' feel which is great considering that the place is right on the main road. And be warned that there is nature there which can appear in your room easily (=lizards, insects and possibly even rodents). 
The rooms are okay but clean and adequately equipped by Sri Lankan standards. It has Wifi (that actually works!) and hot water, two things that can be considered as luxury among the budget accommodations in this country. The town is in walkable distance and the jeep safaris start right next door to the B&B (can't call it a hotel).
It might not be the best place for backpackers who are after hangouts and being surrounded by lots of people but for those who seek for a cheap quiet room not far from the city, right where the happening is, Teak Villa could be a great choice.

Sublime breakfast, excellent location and value-for-money. Highly recommended!

Excellent hospitality, great food, very comfy

In a town where ripping-off tourists is on a top level, this place is a nice  surprise
